A positive health update (and a lil sneak peeper)
I'm FINALLY able to get out of bed! Not for TOO long, unfortunately, but my fever isn't anywhere near as strong as it used to be, so I figured I'd finally sit back at my computer and make a little post to let you guys know what's going on. I'm still alive! I'm pretty sure this flu is already on the way out, because I'm at that gross stage where my lungs feel like they're full of gunk and I can't stop coughing. So far it's been:
Day 1 - Head pressure and body aches, telltale signs of fever
Day 2 - Fever has ARRIVED. Keeping myself hydrated and stocked up on vitamin C, hoping to mitigate the damage later on. Cold sweats start popping up every time I try to stand.
Day 3 - BAD fever, hits me like a fucking truck. Can't do anything except curl up in bed and pray for a swift death. This whole day was basically a blur.
Day 4 - The fucking SHIVERS AAAA I HATED THIS PART. Any time where I wasn't wrapped up in blankets, I'd get these painful full-body shivers and it wouldn't stop until I was back in bed. At one point, I woke up at 3am and realized it was time to take more meds, but I couldn't pull myself out of bed because I knew I was gonna start shivering, so I just laid there, trying to decide if the headache was worth getting out of bed for. Really glad this phase is over with.
Day 5 - Runny nose hell. The headaches had finally eased up a bit, but I was burning through tissue boxes like crazy. My nose started bleeding from having so many tissues rubbed against it.
Day 6 - No more runny nose, just lots of gunk in my throat. Coughing any time I breathe too deeply or lay on my side. I worried my neighbors were gonna be annoyed with all my coughing. Headache wasn't so bad, so I thought maybe I could do a little doodling to get my mind off things. It wasn't the best idea.

Day 7 - TODAY! I've hacked up as much lung goop as I can, and there's definitely still some lodged in my breathe-y bits, but this is the most "OK" I've felt all week, so I'm guessing I'm finally near the end of this shitty journey. When this is all over, I'm gonna order a big fat pizza to celebrate.
It's CRAZY how much of your life basically goes on pause when you get sick: all of a sudden, I can't do any reading, I can't do any drawing, I can't cook for myself, and I can barely even stand without feeling like I'm gonna pass out. I tried watching netflix while stuck in bed, but I couldn't look at the TV for longer than a few minutes at a time because it felt like my eyes were gonna burn through my skull. I'm not a very outdoorsy person, so I don't get sick very often, but I'd forgotten just how helpless it feels to be sick! How the hell do people do this? And there's just this CONSTANT FEELING of "I'm wasting my time" that I can't shake off every day that I'm stuck in bed.

Anyway, I felt pretty OK making these little doodles, so maybe I can start taking little steps towards wrapping up this next comic. Nuclear-Housewife Veronica gets a visit from... the Milk-Man! Has he come to deliver the goods? Does he have tasty milk for her thirsty body? Only time will tell!
On a serious side-note, thanks SO much for your patience this past week, everyone! This fever thing completely blindsided me and pretty much instantly knocked my ass out of commission. Some of my friends have been getting sick too, so I genuinely hope none of you guys catch this nasty flu that's been going around. Wishing you all good health, and stay safe out there! ๐

EDIT: Oop, I forgot to mention, but I reached out to Ownaj last week in regards to the Veronica plushies! Apparently, they're already on the way from the manufacturers, but they'll reach out to me once the plushies start shipping out to customers - I'll be sure to let you guys know about any updates as soon as I hear anything!
