Timelapse & Thoughts - V&M: "Social Studies"
(Click here to view the timelapse!)
I ended up using the secondary punchline on the rest of my socials, but that's alright; despite my intentions, it's always possible for others to take things a different way. Even when I posted this on Reddit, there was a handful of commentors going, "Uhm... this is technically sexual harrassment?!", so maybe it's better to just keep things extra sanitized on some platforms lol but that said, I appreciate the feedback/support you guys gave :)
ANYWAY, this one came out pretty nice! Initially, I was worried about the visual interest - these kinds of panels make me uneasy, because there's not a whole lot of motion going on. They're waiting on a train, so posing-wise, they're mostly just standing there lol I tried to offset it by making the background gradually shift to the left (to show that the train is moving), but I don't know if it reads as clearly as I was hoping.
It's been awhile since we last saw Victoria! Even longer since Monika made an appearance; although, there's still that one sketch comic I showed you guys, waiting for me to finalize the script. The neat thing about drawing non-nurse comics that, bit by bit, it kinda fleshes out their world a little. Granted, these adult comics aren't exactly too focused on the "lore" lol but it's just nice to have a little world-building going on :) Maybe someday I'll draw up Victoria's workplace and all her Yes-Man goons, scrambling to get her a coffee and hoping for the chance to get stepped on.

Totally unrelated tangent, but I picked up the new "Mario & Luigi" on Switch! I really, really loved playing Superstar Saga when I was a kid and it was part of the reason why I fell in love with RPGs! Unfortunately, I gotta be completely honest here - Brothership feels just a little... underwhelming? :( I don't know WHAT is going on story-wise - they got warped to another world, and so far, there's been absolutely zero explanation why. But the combat is still goofy and fun - it's always nice to see bouncy, fluid animation and the charming personality poured into all their movements. Hopefully it'll pick up some steam later on, so I'll reserve my judgement until I've gotten through it a good chunk.

Still undecided on what the next comic is going to be about (I may dip into the Idea Submission pool), but today's Sketch day, so I gotta settle on something by tonight! Also, I'm surprised it's already the 20th! Once we hit the end of November, just one more month until the Veronica Plushies should start shipping out - and then once that's underway, perhaps it won't be long before we see Mona in plush-form too :)
For now, the hot weather is (hopefully) long gone, so crack a window, grab a coffee, and enjoy the night air! ๐
