MEGA post: Project reveal + artwork wips

It is with great excitement that I reveal this project to you. I've been thinking a lot about it these past two years, until I decided three months ago to to put my hands in the dirt and do this. The game project is a very heavy project and i felt like it didn't interest many people and I thought it may be time to put it on hiatus and get back on the comics and story writing.
I didn't want to announce it sooner because I feared this project could fail, but it did not, even if it was a bumpy road, I think it is worth it. What is this project? It is an app (windows for now, then mac and android). The goal of this app is to bring a new experience to reading my comics, to be able to read and access the codex and an interactive map at the same time, in one place. You may think that it is useless but in my mind it is part of a big plan: Because of all the new AI artists competition out there, I've lost a lot of subscribers and I came to realize that the only things that give me value over them is my stories and style, because what I'm creating is more than simple fap material. So I have been working a lot on the lore of Andromeda lately, I've invented new races, wrote about all the religious orders, historic events, completed the map with hundreds of cities and realms, worked on the species distribution in the world, etc. I felt like this was something necessary to do to make my world richer and bigger, give a strong base for the future stories. With this lore overhaul, I am ready to start a creative streak, I have a lot of ideas to brings to life!

The app is 95% ready, the hardest is done, and it reached a decent-enough state to present it. Without further ado, let me present it:

The first feature of the app is the library and reader. When the app will be release, it will contain all the free comics content (the free chapters, the spin-offs)

If you already possess premium chapter, you can import them and they will populate the library automatically.

You can control the zoom level and the reader includes a fullscreen mode.

Navigating in the app is easy with a tab system just like in a web browser.

The second feature of the app is the codex, and is the reason this app exists. The codex works similarly to its version on my website but ten times better. In this example, it is populated only by placeholders (text and image) but the logic is sound.

In the codex, I have built an interactive map, and man, this was a tedious work but it works like a charm. This interactive map is the reason I haven't posted anything the past two weeks, there was a lot to do, from the visual assets to the coding. two weeks working from 6am to 10pm.

The resolution of the map is 8k+ (8000x4000px) and you can zoom in pretty far to see the details.

The map is populated by many labels, all interactive. Clicking on them will spawn a modal displaying a bunch of information, and dynamics internal links, such as go to the corresponding codex entry

But also link to other elements in the map

Of course, the map has an legend where you can tweak and toggle many parameters. It is not yet fully complete on this example, but it will be complete for the app's release.

I brought the species distribution to life in the app, their presence over the world can be seen using their toggle in the legend. I have used all this data to also do a complete demographics census and sort all species presence in all 192 cities. It is a bit overkill but I'm sure it will come in handy later.

The demographics stats are visible in the information modal, and the modal can be moved around.

And I'm about to bring this content to you. Like I said the app is almost ready, there is a list of small things to fix, mostly quality of life details, and to finish securing and obfuscating the code. Then i will compile it and give it to test to my tier 3+ patron. After that testing period, I will fix what is needed and release the app when it's ready. The good thing is that I chose a language and architecture to allow the app to be ported on android without much of reworking, there will be some UI tweaking to do but the rest will be perfectly functional.

I told you earlier that I wrote eleven new species. They are all in the features images of this post. For now they are sketches, and you can't see much how they are different without the colors, I'm working on it and will release the colored sketch soon, then the final versions.

In total, there is 18 "main" species in Andromeda, I'm talking about intelligent species (not counting the rarest ones such as the Fairies, the nymphs, etc, not counting either the monster and creatures, and the mixed species such as the Milkies). It was fun writing their lore and creating their icons for the map. Here's all 18 icons:

I will keep the secret for now, I will release their lore when I publish the new species individually or else this post is gonna be very long 😅 I have attached in this post all the sketch timelapses, if you like to watch this kind of thing.
