It's Patch Day
EA is releasing a major patch today, which may cause issues—especially for relationship-based mods. This is your reminder to back up your important mods and saves before updating. If you’re on Windows, you can use my free Clean Launcher tool for Windows (recently updated and much improved) to back everything up to any location you choose, so you’re ready when it’s safe to play again.
While you’re waiting for mods to be cleared, try out Mod Profiles. Start with all your usual mods in the Mods folder—these become your Default Mods. Then remove them from the Mods folder (yes, you can delete them; you have your backup) and add only your CC must-haves (like a default skin replacement). Hit Create New and give it a name—for example, Vanilla-ish. Clean Launcher will back up your new profile, and you can switch between them as you choose. You can even set a default profile to load with the game from the Main Menu, if you want to!
Your Default Mods stay safely backed up, and you can view their location from the More button. You can also add notes to each profile so you always know what’s what.

I have a question about profiles. Do updates of mods get added to the profiles automatically or is that manual?

The Clean Launcher app has been a lifesaver as I get back into the game and work through CC to find the ones that are causing the bug that causes any search in Build/Buy to crash the game, and of course as I add mods back in today using Creator Musings Discord, Scarlet's list, and you and other modders who are quick about informing their patrons. Thank you!
