Head Game 2 dev build 20251202

Hey everyone,

First of all, I want to say sorry for the long silence. Life has been incredibly busy — between building a home for my family and working a full 9-to-5 job, my time and energy have been stretched thin. I never intended to disappear for this long, and I truly appreciate everyone who stuck around. ❤️

Now to the exciting part:

Head Game 2 – A Fresh Start

I’ve officially begun development on Head Game 2, and this time I’m taking a completely fresh approach.

Head Game 1 grew into a giant tangle of prototype systems — creative experiments layered on top of each other, eventually turning into a structure that was very difficult to maintain or extend. Adding new features meant fighting old ones, and the project drifted into development hell.

So I made the tough call: start over from scratch.
Not because the vision changed, but because starting clean is the only way to finally deliver it the way it deserves.

What’s in the current dev build?

Right now, the build is intentionally bare-bones:

• no special effects

• no facial animations (yet)

• no sounds

• no polish

What is there is the foundation of the new animation system, which everything else will be built on. It’s simple, clean, and already a huge improvement over the old pipeline.

Metahumans Integration

One major upgrade in Head Game 2 is that all characters — including their facial rigs — are now based on Epic’s Metahumans.
This gives me access to incredibly high-quality facial animation capabilities, better realism, better performance tools, and a far more stable base to animate from. Even though the current dev build doesn’t showcase these features yet, they are baked into the foundation and will power all upcoming character work.
