Teaser & Survey: Dreaming of Desire Dungeon (New Project!)

Before I tell you more about this project, let me quickly address something else. A lot has happened since my last post. I started a master's program at a new university, traveled a bit, met lots of lovely people, and started working on a new JOI game with a friend (more about that below). There are so many fun projects I want to work on and experiences I want to have, the 24 hours of a day hardly ever seem enough...

Anyway, something else happened as well: Since my last game, Mora says..., our community on Patreon has silently grown by 1000 new members! That's crazy!!

1. DREAMING OF DESIRE DUNGEON

This playable teaser is the first glimpse into my next game, Dreaming of Desire Dungeon! 👏

Looking back at my past works after six years of creating JOI games for you horny people, there is one game that always sticks out to me. Sure, A Day With DVa was a huge milestone and I would consider it my first "proper" game. Later on, C** for the Cauldron immensely helped improve my storytelling, and the Fapjack series raised the bar for technical game features.
Among them all, though, Lost in Lewd Labyrinth has a special place in my heart. It was the first game I created during the pandemic, and I put more time, effort, and love into LiLL than any previous project. And it showed. Originally only intended as alternative version for Enter The Pony Maze, which itself was a sequel to The Mystical Maze, Lost in Lewd Labyrinth quickly became my most played game, a distinction it holds to this day.

Since 2020, you have been asking me for another maze exploration game in the style of Lost in Lewd Labyrinth, but I was more focused on in-depth character development with games like Christmas with a Camgirl and Mora says. With those projects finished, I now finally want to answer your request. I don't plan on Dreaming of Desire Dungeon being a direct sequel to Lost in Lewd Labyrinth, but it will certainly step into its footsteps. 😊

Like most of my games, I can't create something of this scale on my own. For DoDD, I have been working closely with my friend Handsome Squidward, who I'm sure you will recognize from our community Discord. Using the same broad story and structure, we are each working on separate games. You can actually already play Handsome's version, titled "Dungeon Adventure". He leans more into the fantasy genre with monsters and mythical creatures, while I plan to stick to my usual style, featuring recognizable characters from pop culture (ie. rule 34). My game will be significantly different from Handsome's, but the main story and interactions will stay the same, so spoiler warning if you decide to play "Dungeon Adventure" before Dreaming of Desure Dungeon. It's a very well-made game though, so I definitely recommend it!

The final game will contain over 100 individual interactions, most of them short JOIs like the rooms in Lost in Lewd Labyrinth. In the teaser, you will be able to experience seven of those interactions and an important story moment: finding a way into the dungeon! The teaser features Lucy facilitating the interactions with the characters in the form of dreams, but this only exists to give the teaser some structure. While Lucy will likely play a large role in the final game, you will be able to travel from interaction to interaction on your own.
The teaser is also my first game to feature a selection of pronouns (he, she, they) for you, the player. I already developed this Inclusive Language System three years ago, but never found a suitable use case for it. Dreaming of Desire Dungeon will be a good first trial.

2. DUNGEON GAME COMMUNITY SURVEY

As mentioned above, the game's broad story and structure are already finished. Currently, I am mostly working on the individual character interactions, specifically the images used in the game. For this, I need your help. 🙌

Please fill out this anonymous Google Form about the characters, kinks, story elements, and images featured in Dreaming of Desire Dungeon.

Since I always strive to create the best possible JOI experience for my community, I want to include you as much into the ideation and creation process of my games as possible. In this case, a large part of the game is already finished, but you can still provide valuable input on the characters included in the game, as well as major features and story elements.

I also want to get an idea of your opinion on me using artificial intelligence to generate pictures for the game. I have already been using Stable Diffusion for some of my games; my most recent game, Mora says..., was my first game to only feature AI-generated images. For now, the consensus seemed to be that I should use AI for my original characters, but should avoid it for existing pop culture characters.
This is a good compromise, but it does have some disadvantages. Additionally, I have recently switched to "Prefect Pony XL", a Stable Diffusion model by Goofy_Ai, which is not only very powerful for anime but can accurately depict existing characters from popular culture. (All pictures of Lucy in teaser, as well as the environmental images, were generated using this model.) Therefore, I am considering relying more on AI-generated images for Dreaming of Desire Dungeon, but I definitely want to hear your thoughts first.

The main benefit of using AI is customizability; I can generate a fitting picture of any character doing exactly what the story describes, regardless how unusual the character or action are. The main problem of AI is its typical aesthetic and imperfections, which you may consider irritating. You will find more detailed information in the Google Form.
Personally, I am absolutely fascinated by the capabilities of artificial intelligence, but I also don't really care about its usage. For me, AI is a handy tool to achieve a result - nothing more, nothing less. Only the final goal matters; for me, that goal is creating the best possible JOI experience for you. 😘
