This episode really put all the pieces together and set the table and now the season really starts to step up in pace and story.
It was very clear from episode 2 of this season with all the scenes between Will and Abigail that will knows if he had just come clean and been honest with Hannibal that not only would things had turned out differently but Abigail would still be alive and obviously Hannibal killed Abigail but for Will he understands the role he played in that and how Hannibal did want to give Abigail to Will until Will broke Hannibal's heart.
Will is more angry with himself for Abigail's death than he his angry with Hannibal because it was Will's lying and betrayal that caused the bloodbath at Hannibal's house and what caused Hannibal to do what he did, Hannibal wanted to give Will Abigail as a gift and show of love and Will wanted to expose Hannibal and put him behind bars. Will being able to acknowledge his complex feelings towards Hannibal shows growth and maturity on Will's part and we have seen throughout the show how conflicted Will is when it comes to Hannibal.
I want to comment about two things: Alana's "new" persona, and Will's "forgiving" Hannibal. About Alana, I've seen that a lot of people didn't liked it and was baffled such radical change, but I think in a way makes sense, I mean besides the bone marrow thing, that I don't know if it's a thing either 😅, she was deceived and manipulated by a man she thought was her friend, that she knew for a long time, even before Jack and Will; for me it's logical for her to try and find revenge, I know I would haha. And about Will, I completely agree with you, but I think in the Abigail thing, he feels like a child that their parents took his favorite toy, he thinks he "misbehaved" and was what he deserves; I think he's always between doing what he wants and what he feels is right. I hope any of this makes any sense 😅, thank you again for your reviews Molly! ❤
