This episode was absolutely insane! I am still having difficulty processing everything that happened!

Hope you enjoy the longer reactions to Hannibal everyone! The shorter version will be up asap. Thanks all and have a wonderful day!

This episode (and knowing everything to come, but definitely especially this episode with the reveal about Abigail, and with Hannibal's clear grief at Will's lies) really makes re-watching the show a rewarding experience in recalibrating your understanding of Hannibal's actions and motivations. His emotional reasoning may not be sympathetic in reality obviously, but has a hugely strong internal consistency within the show when you go in with the knowledge that Will is just as much of an emotional wrecking ball into Hannibal's life as Hannibal was to Will's. Here in S2 Will thought he was "just" going to catch Hannibal, but instead he found that Hannibal was kind of right about their similarities and capacity for connecting with eachother -- and Hannibal begins the show with a confidence at "just" playing with Will's mind like any other patient and seeing what happens, but down that path became actually vulnerable (emotionally and legally) because he wanted more. Gah, I could wax poetic about the emotional arcs of those two characters for hours, its just so rewarding (and painful).
