The Expanse Season 3 Episode 8 Full Review and Reaction!
Hi everyone! Here (at last) is my full review and reaction for Season 3 Episode 8 of The Expanse! I'm sorry that this ended up being posted today, rather than Tuesday. Yesterday, I sat down to start working on videos and realized it had been quite a while since I watched anything. So, I decided to re-watch the episodes of all the shows I'd previously watched. That way, I'd be right back into them all prior to moving on to the new episodes. That took longer than I expected! I'm watching a LOT of shows right now lol. But, here the video is, at last! The shorter, edited version will also be posted in just a few minutes. I'll be working on more edits beginning at about midnight tonight. So, if all goes according to plan, additional videos will be posted before the morning. Thanks everyone!
All the best,
Molly

Season 3 is so good. No filler episodes at all!
Wow.
Great to have you back, Molly, with great analysis as usual. Couple things. I think someone already pointed this out, but that final shot has a bit of an odd perspective that inadvertently suggests something other than what they were trying to show. The Rocinante has indeed gone "into" the ring. It has passed through it and is ... somewhere else, on the other side, but still fairly close, so when you're seeing the stars in the background, you're basically seeing them *through* the ring. The other thing you see in there is the missle, which looks to be frozen in time, but what they're actually showing you is that the missile got stopped just like Maneo's ship did, because it was going fast. The Roci, on the other hand, was going slow enough to remain unscathed. The other thing you may want to do is watch the scenes with Miller again, because he actually sort of does answer your questions regarding why he's there (what his mission is, if you will) and what he wants with Holden. Maybe those will help some. And thanks again!
Remember, Holden never saw the hat before... haha wrote that before you made that very point lol :D
Great review and analysis. I sure missed them. It's a weird perspective, but they actually went through the ring and are now inside the ring space. The stars are distorted looking through the ring at normal space and you see the weird purple and blue space they've entered. You really picked up on the details of what Miller was saying about his creation and destruction cycles. When he comes up empty or exceeds his boundary parameters, he's destroyed. I wonder if thinking about Julie exceeds those boundaries? I'm sure you noticed that shot of the protomolecule goop under the deck that was left over from the hybrid.
Worth the wait!
Thanks! This is probably my favorite episode of the show so far, the end bit is just so incredibly tense.
