The Expanse Season 3 Episode 7 Full Review and Reaction!
Good morning everyone! I was finally able to make it through a recording session and then edit together the full length version of Season 3 Episode 7! That ending was just... WHAT?! lol
I am feeling very run down after filming and editing this. So, I'm going to try and sleep for a few more hours. As soon as I'm up, I'll edit the shorter version of the episode and get that posted for everyone as well. Thank you all once again for your patience.
All the best,
Molly

MANEO JUNG-ESPINOZA! He'll go into the history books as the Belter who dared to ride to The Ring!
Nice job as usual, although without your usually incisive commentary at the end, there seems to be less to talk about today. :) Looking forward to your thoughts at the beginning of the next one. I have always been a fan of David Strathairn and I think his Ashford is right up there with Jared Harris' Dawes in terms of quality of performance. He's got such a great screen presence, and Cara Gee (Drummer) has commented multiple times about how much she loves working with him. I do have to say, though, that Cara holds her own and acquits herself quite well in her scenes with him, which is just awesome. Kudos to her. I really love this cast. Sending good health vibes to you and your handsome young parakeet friend. Hope you're both feeling better!
While we’re talking about amazing side characters, how about Maneo Jung-Espinoza (played by Zach Villa)? IMO he’s phenomenal: quite a bit fanatic, very sensitive, lovable, easy to sympathyze with and, I’d say, fun to watch – if he hadn’t died so horribly in the end. Oh and I just love every single scene with Drummer. She’s such a fascinating character, about the past of whom no one knows anything, but still enchants a lot of people – well me, at least.
Liked your reaction to the double-whammy ending, was looking forward to seeing how far your jaw dropped. David Strathairn's another top notch actor, love his take on Belter-Pirate Ashford. He has the accent and swagger. I also wondered what happened to the actor who played Spender, haven't seen him since X-Files. In the book, Maneo's girlfriend is his cousin, glad they didn't go there in the show. I mean this isn't GOT, lol.
Yeah, I read the 3rd book in English, and I was stunned when the girlfriend called Maneo "unokabátya", which word in my native language means "male cousin older than you". That was the last thing I expected to come across in the books. :)
Remember in season one when Miller was looking for Bizi Petiko, he went to that gambling den where they were betting on 'slingshot' racers, lads racing around the solar system using little ships slingshotting around saturn and jupiter and their moons. Manao is one of those, but he gets pissed off that his record breaking runs keep getting eclipsed by the news of the Ring. He's built up a huge amount . of speed, and dies when his ship is sudden, and and he doesn't. :D . Picture how a body would react hitting the water after falling from a high bridge. Not sure if you noticed, but the device that Melba put behind the panel, had Explosives written on it. They don'g say it explicitly but yea looks like Avarsaral has the top job now. P.s. Re:Miller and Holden, ask yourself this... Did Holden ever see Miller with a hat :)
In my opinion, there’s no need to tell reactors "ask yourself this, ask yourself that," etc. These "instructions" are bordering on spoilers. Reactors are not dumber than any of us, they will ask themselves what they think is needed to ask themselves, just like we did when watching the show for the first - or second, or third, etc. - time. As I said, this is my opinion, and feel free to disagree with me any time you like.
We haven’t seen Monica Stuart, the journalist (played by Anna Hopkins) in this show before, but she certainly looks a bit like ensign Larson (played by Sydney Meyer) from S3E6, in the scene with Cotyar.
I've just noticed that the songs Maneo played were sung in Belter. (English isn't my native language... and neither is Belter. :)
That was really cool. I hope they do more Belter covers in the future.
Yeah!
Agreed!
