Don't know if you've gotten to episode 7 yet, but if you haven't, SKIP PAST THE OPENING CREDITS. You'll understand why when you watch the episode.

Only 7 episodes left, and Holden's nose is still broken.

Poor Holden. His heart is broken (because of Naomi), his spirit is broken (because all his effort against the protomolecule accumulate to pretty much nothing), his leg is broken by the Hybrid, his nose is broken by the martians and there is no coffee :D

Shawn Doyle just chewed it up as Errinwright. Loved his "Was he always like that? ..." speech. "He doesn't care about treason. That's just him parroting you because you talked to him last. If he spoke to a janitor, he'd be passionately declaiming about a fucking mop! It's agonizing! I've lost count of how many times I've stopped him from blundering into political suicide, and now we have a chance to assure the future of the earth, and he's shitting himself because he's afraid the history books won't be flattering enough!"

In the books, Errinwright and Avasarala often talk behind the Secretary General's back, in private they think very poorly of him. One of the things that the show captures from the books is the fact that Avasarala always refers to him as a Bobblehead, which he is.

A great, spot-on analysis of Amos. I love the image of Amos "The Protector" making breakfast for the kids at the end.

And swearing in front of them while doing so. :)

One thing you might recall from season 1 is there was an exchange between Fred and Naomi, where she said that at some stage in the future she would ask him to find someone. And as well in 1x4 where she said to Amos, 'I never got to say goodbye'. All of tht hinted to Filip. Totally agree with Nonman, about the side characters, and the way the story really makes us feel for people were have barely met. You are spot on about the 'villians' . as GRRM is quoted as saying 'Every Villian is the hero of his own story' and if you take a step back and get into the heads of any of the characters you can totally understand their actions, if you accept their world view. These two episodes are probably the favourites of mine of the whole series. The mutiny etc, was .just so intense, and the emotional strings pulled, whether it be Alex trying to save Mars, or Amos being 'That Guy', or Naomi and Holden, its all just rivetting storytelling But I'll leave it at that... and wait eagerly for your to review the next episode, for the work must continue....can't stop the work. Thanks again for a great reaction.

It would be interesting to speculate on what Errinwright's original intent could’ve been with the Hybrid pods. Somehow I doubt that he was going to turn Mars into another, bigger Eros – unless the UN looked like losing the war. And UNN ships firing on one another clearly wasn’t his plan. So, in a sense Nguyen, with his last desperate move, screwed it up majorly, I think. So what could’ve been Errinwritgh’s next step if he hadn’t been exposed? Hm.

Great reaction and rewiev again, Molly. Again, what the show does so well, a whole bunch of incredibly amazing side characters. Lt. Shaffer and Lt. Mancuso, the female and male officers loyal to Souther – both of them killed, RIP -, Sandrine Kirino, commanding officer of the MCRN Hammurabi, and even in a smaller role, ensign Larsen, who had a really heartbreaking scene with Cotyar, and so on. And yeah, it’s going to be interesting to see where the show goes from here. For examble, the purpose of Avasarala was, by sending Errinwright’s video to Anna and Souther, to stop the war. Did she succeed in that? Who knows? Well I do, but won’t tell because spoilers. :) And really, what the fuck is that Work?

I'm so curious to see what happens next. And you're absolutely correct about the side characters. They do a tremendous job of making you care about the characters with smaller roles (partially I'm sure it has to do with the high quality acting). And honestly - what IS the work???

Amos had Prax’s back when it truly mattered.

M
Molly Bee Reacts · June 15, 2019

Yes, he did. Prax said Amos was his best friend and Amos proved it.
