Update on this Week and Future Reaction Series Plans!

Hi all! This has been an interesting day for me. I fell down the stairs this morning and ended up beating myself up fairly badly. After a long day at the doctors, luckily it doesn't appear that anything is broken, but my tailbone is bruised quite severely and sitting up is no fun! With that in mind, The Expanse reaction will, unfortunately, not be going up today. Tomorrow is actually my birthday and I have plans for the evening (though, I'll be hobbling a bit now lol) so, I'll be sticking with my Dad's GoT reaction, as per the schedule, for tomorrow. With that in mind, Thursday will be The Expanse, and Friday, Penny Dreadful, as planned. Then, I'm hoping on Sunday to post both episode 10 of Hannibal and the first episode of Good Omens!

I'm also curious to hear your thoughts on a couple of series that will be premiering their third seasons over the course of this month. I am a huge fan of the FX Series Legion. The third and final season will be starting shortly. The third and final season of Netflix's Jessica Jones will also be starting in about ten days. Would anyone here be interested in watching reactions to either of these programs? I'll definitely be watching both of them and I think Legion at least would make for very fun reactions, but I wanted to ask you all about your interest levels before making any decisions.

Thanks everyone! Now, I'm going to go back to icing my butt lol. How silly.

All the best,

Molly

Oh no! I hope this will get better soon! dont forget to use a LOT of cushions for your bruised tailbone! (you seem into a lot of pillows so I am not too worried!) I am way behind on you and your dad so I always have that in my back pocket to see when all else fails. Just worry about yourself and we will always be here. And Happy Birthday!!

Hope you didn't hurt yourself....other than a bruised ego and tailbone. Have a brilliant birthday, and dance it off.. :) . The expanse later in the week isn't a problem, as there have been a few released today by some others, so will survive the withdrawel symptoms until your always anticipated and appreciated insights. :)

The daily travails of Molly might make a good show to review if it were one. Episode one: The Staircase.

Ouch! Good that you didn't break anything. I hope that you feel better soon and have a happy birthday!

Damn. That's some rotten luck. Tailbone injuries are no fun from what I have been told. Some kid pulled the chair out from beneath my Dad when he was a kid and he "broke (his words)" his tailbone. I'm assuming the fall just severely damaged the connective structures to it. He couldn't sit normally for quite a while from what he told me. I hope you feel better soon.

I love legion! I'd be very interested to follow your reactions to it.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you feel better. It looks like more reviews from bed, hehe. I've never seen Legion so I don't really have an opinion and gave up on JJ early in the 2nd season. I am looking forward to your Good Omens review and of course, The Expanse.

Everyone... I was just informed that Season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale also premieres this week?!!! Okay... maybe I need to just work one or two fewer days each week so I can fit in reactions to all of these shows... because I feel as though they're all definitely deserving. Anyone here watch Handmaid's Tale?

I watched and enjoyed (as much as one can enjoy watching something so horrific) the first season... Then I watched about 3 episodes of the second season and found it just too damned bleak. I couldn't take it anymore. Part of what (I think) makes it so good -- but also so uncomfortable -- is that lately it seems more and more like a plausible near future. Not to go all political, but I think that might be why I lost interest in the show; it just seems a little too close to home and reminds me of things I don't want to reminded of. It is incredibly well made, though, and Elisabeth Moss is *really* good. You could do worse.

Do you have a PO Box we can send caffeine and ibuprofen to?

M
Molly Bee Reacts · June 4, 2019

Unfortunately I do not but that is very kind of you! Caffeine, dear wonderful precious caffeine is my salvation on days like this lol

Hope it's not too sore. Personally Legion is something I'd love to see a reaction of. It's the kind of show you can spend longer talking about afterwards than the actual episode length.

Thank you! It's a bit rough at the moment but it'll be fine. I think Legion is one of those shows that really deserves to be reacted to and discussed, so, I'm heavily leaning toward doing it. It's such a great show, imo.

Ouch. I feel your pain, Molly. Literally. A couple of winters ago, I went to an event I had promised to attend one evening even though there was a huge storm going on. I took a car (Lyft, I think) to the thing, but decided I could take public transit back home when it was over. So I took a NYC subway home from this event in Manhattan to my home in Queens. The neighborhood where I live is served by a a "subway" that is actually an elevated train in this area, so when I got off the train, I had to climb down four flights of stairs from the train platform down to the street. Well, it was cold out, and the the stairs were covered in snow, and I carefully took the first step from the platform onto the first flight of stairs, and ... my feet flew out from under me and I slid down the stairs on my backside, all the way down to the landing. I got up, brushed myself off, thanked onlookers for their concern, and proceeded to navigate the second flight of stairs, which I *also* slipped on and slid down. Anyway, long story short, I slipped and fell three times, sliding down three of the four flights of stairs on my way down to the street, and the only reason I didn't slide down the fourth flight was because I wisely decided to "walk" my butt down that flight, sitting on each step in turn until I reached the bottom. Anyway, I felt that in my tailbone for a good couple weeks, and I'm convinced the only reason it wasn't worse was that my fall was softened somewhat by the snow and a certain amount of, um, natural padding I was fortunate enough to have. Anyway, your story reminded me of mine, and like I said, I feel you. Hope you heal soon!

Oh God, I'm so sorry to hear that! I spent about three years commuting in and out of Manhattan myself for grad school and I can literally picture everything you're describing. One time, I fell going up the stairs too fast at Secaucus Junction while trying to make my train home... well, I missed that train, got two majorly bloody, skinned knees and a bruised behind, and the embarrassing though appreciated concern of onlookers instead lol. Also, I have that natural padding myself thank god lol. Otherwise, I think this would be a lot worse.

Take care of yourself please. I'd probably watch a Legion reaction. I'm not personally caught up with Jessica Jones. I don't know what kind of numbers they'd pull in more generally.

M
Molly Bee Reacts · June 4, 2019

Thank you! I think I should definitely do the Legion reactions. It just seems like the perfect show for it - and honestly, more people should be watching Legion, it's just so good.

Dudeist Priest · June 4, 2019

I do like Jessica Jones. Can't say I've ever seen Legion.

M
Molly Bee Reacts · June 4, 2019

Nice! I think JJ would be a fun reaction series. I'm really hoping Season 3 will be more like Season 1 than 2 - but I think I'm one of the few people who thought Season 2 was better than the general consensus on it. Legion is amazing. It's mindbending mutant fun times lol.

Feel better Molly! We can wait :), the Expanse is my favorite show and your reactions make me appreciate its story more. Thanks for reacting.

Thank you so much! That's very kind of you to say and I'm really enjoying Season 3 so far.
