Question - Opinion on Good Omens?
Hi everyone! I am hoping to get some opinions from people who have either already begun watching the Amazon Original Series Good Omens and/or have read the original text it's based on. Do you think this show would be worthwhile for me to watch and react to or not?
I am asking because I am a really big fan of both Michael Sheen and David Tennant and I think the preview makes the show look pretty entertaining. However, I don't really know much about the source material. I'll probably end up watching the show at some point, either way. However, I wasn't sure whether or not it'd be worth reacting to the episodes. So, I thought I'd ask for your thoughts. Please let me know what you think!
All the best,
Molly

Thank you for your thoughts and advice everyone! I've decided that at some point during the upcoming week, I am going to try to sit down and watch/react to the first episode! If all goes well, it'll be a nice little interlude (and a funny one, it sounds like) from the more dramatic material I typically cover :)
I read the book when it came out and loved it. Yesterday I watched the series and couldn't stop so I watched the complete season. It is a great book and show.
We just watched the first episode. It's like a Doug Adams treatment of The Omen, with bits of like genre thrown in. It's pretty light entertainment so I'm not sure if it will lend itself to any deep reviewing, but might be fun.
I've never heard of the show or books. But I'm hearing good things. I say go for it. I'm going to watch now that I know about it.
I love the style of humor Good Omens has. While I've only seen one episode, it strikes me as "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" style of humor with a great cast. ¶ Since this is your channel, it's your call, but this sponsor would love to see how you react to this style of humor. I'll give you a big thumbs-up! 😸 ¶ Ended up binging all 6 episodes ... loved it and think you will too!
I haven't watched the series yet, but since you mention source material, the book is a great wee read. I imagine it would translate really well to a TV series. Funnily enough I'd never heard about the adaptation until today, so I have something new to look forward to trying. Fingers crossed. Guessing they stayed quite true to the book given they kept it to only six episodes.
