Welcome to Polaris โ New Setting and Subclass (v1.1)!
Update notes can be found at the bottom!
The city Polaris drifts at the apex of the Material Plane and Wild Space, representing the magical dominance wielded by its upper-crust citizens. Built into a cluster of asteroids, Polaris resembles a titanic, white sword rising from a broad stone bowl. The โswordโ is Polarisโ White Spire, the cityโs heart and the seat of its power. This 1,600-foot tall tower rises from the site of the cityโs founding, the now dry starmetal mines. Smaller structures and farms surround the White Spire, as well as gated piers and entryways that pierce into its protective shield. All of this floats high above the surface of the planet (typically between 250 and 300 miles), although it can lower itself into the atmosphere to be reached by planet-bound mercantile airships.
The subclass for the setting is the new fighter archetype: the Meteor Knight! Control the gravity of small objects you bind to you to send them hurtling toward your targets! Lessen gravity's hold on you with spells like feather fall, jump, and levitate, or increase it on you to prevent yourself from being pushed! This is an Intelligence-based fighter that's been super fun to create and playtest, and I hope you have fun with it!
Speaking of the subclass, here's a reminder that we also have official subclass playtest sessions on the Discord! So please feel welcome to sign up for them and get early looks and hands-on time with them! As always, further revisions will be made here with published updates as they're released!

Meteor Knight update: v.1.1
Satellite Mastery
Substantially reduced damage scaling to 1d6 at 10th level and 1d8 at 18th, rather than 2d4 and 3d4. At higher levels, the damage began to outshine what you'd normally be wielding, which wasn't the intention. This lets it take a back seat to your main hand weaponry, but still acts as very welcome chip damage.
Course Correct
Added a note that you need to see the missile to snare it. Adjusted some minor language for clarity.
Satellite Barrage
Limited the number of barrages you can do on a turn to once, even if you barrage, Action Surged to recollect the satellites, and wanted to do it again. 6 ranged attacks that each deal 1d8 + INT damage is plenty good for once a round.
Comments (1)
If someone is playing a Meteor knight and picks a bomb up as a satellite and launches it does it only do the typical satellite damage?
