Elite Workshop Day 1 — What kind of item should we make?

Hey heroes! It's time to make a new item together!

Please vote on a direction and leave a comment with an item idea that's as refined or as vague as you like.

Three or more of your commented suggestions relating to the winning item direction will be up for a follow-up vote tomorrow!

Remember that this will be an official Saddlebag item and will not credit anyone for the ideas generated through this process. Please only bring ideas you're comfortable with sharing to the workshop!

Let's make something exciting together! See you back here tomorrow!

**Wyvern's Wing** *Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)* This heavy leather cloak is formed from the folded wings taken from a downed wyvern. When you take the attack action, before making one of the attacks you can choose to fly up to 30ft in a straight line and immediately make the attack. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity, and if you hit with the attack the target takes an additional 4d6 poison damage. If you end this movement in the air, you descend at a rate of 60ft per round until you land. You can use this ability 3 times, and regain all expended uses at dawn. **Wyvernsoul Draught** *Potion, rare* This potion is made from the carefully distilled essence of an ancient wyvern, and bears its strength and ferocity. When you drink this potion, your body transforms to take on some aspect of its power, causing the following effects: -Your skin hardens into scales, increasing your AC by 1. -You grow a pair of heavy, leathery wings, gaining a fly speed of 80 ft. -The first time you hit with a weapon attack on each of your turns, the target takes an additional 2d6 poison damage. -You have disadvantage on Intelligence checks and saving throws These effects last for 1 minute, after which you must make a DC 15 constitution saving throw or suffer a level of exhaustion as the physical transformation reverts. **Wyvern King's Crest** *Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)* This grim crown is crafted from wyvern bones and fangs, and bears the mark of a forgotten empire. You gain resistance to poison damage and advantage on saves against poison while wearing this crown, and advantage on Charisma and Wisdom checks made to influence or control wyverns. Additionally, when you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can choose to channel the poison of a wyvern into it, forcing the target to make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 7d6 poison damage, or half as much on a success. Additionally, you can focus on the crown as an action to summon the spirit of a wyvern to aid you. This spirit functions like the spell *find steed* with the following changes: -The summoned creature is a wyvern. -The creature's type is always fiend. -The creature is unable to attack, but can otherwise take actions as normal. -The spell lasts for 1 hour or until you dismiss the wyvern as a bonus action. Once one of these abilities has been used, it cannot be used again until dawn. Additionally, as an action you can choose to shatter the crown entirely, drawing its energy into yourself. This functions as the *polymorph* spell targeting yourself (no concentration required) with the following changes: -You transform into a wyvern. -Your creature type becomes fiend. ***Curse.*** Once the crown has been shattered, you are permanently marked by its essence. You grow patches of scales and horns reminiscent of those of a wyvern.

Glider Shield This shield is made with the wings of a wyvern on the front end, with a mechanism to spring out the wings to allow you to glide. Could also give wielder poison resistance or the ability to rebuke an attacker with the sting of a wyverns poison from the shield. Keeping it vague but I really would like to see a gliding shield as the main feature

Wyvern Talon Gloves Wonderous item, Rare These gloves are made of the leathery wings of a wyvern along with the sharp talons of their feet. If you grapple a creature while wearing these gloves, that creature takes 2d4 piercing damage. The strength check for the creature to break free is increased to 13+twice your strength modifier. If the creature succeeds, it takes 2d4 slashing damage.

Fife of the Lady Lihara - Attunement This magical blowgun, carved from the venomous stinger of a great wyvern's tail, also functions as a musical instrument. While used as a musical instrument it will passively cast the Minor Illusion spell without the use of an action, allowing the player to cast Minor Illusion in tandem with another spell as long as all spells cast this way are able to cast through the instrument as the spellcasting focus. When used as a blowgun, this weapon creates its own magical ammunition which evaporates on contact. Once per week, after a successful hit, the user may choose to force the target to make a DC 16 constitution saving throw. On a fail, the target will take 1 damage per round, increasing by 1 damage every minute for five minutes or until the poison is cured via Lesser or Greater Restoration. This poison is nonfatal, and if the target is knocked unconscious by this effect they are automatically stabilized but unable to be brought back to consciousness until the poison has passed. ----- Lihara cast her gaze over the crowd, delicate fingers tapping against the holes of the fife in quick succession, then in slow, steady release, bright, illusory butterflies and finger length dancers drifting through the air as she gauged their interest in the performance she was putting on for them. She needed to be absolutely certain they were taken in by the music, and by her illusions. That all eyes would be trained on the spectacle, and not the conductor. She only had one chance at this, and failure would mean capture and, worse, the absolute annihilation of her reputation as a performer of the arts. She made her illusions fade in a glimmer of sparkles that spread over the crowd, then, as her song reached its crescendo, cast Silent Image to cause a majestic illusory dragon to appear, flying along the tavern ceiling. There. As all eyes drifted upwards and gasps and applause rippled through the crowds, she turned her fife toward her mark, the beautiful music still playing as she took a quick breath and unleashed a single dart. It struck her mark square in the neck, and before he could even reach up to see what had stung him the dart had vanished. She smiled, and dutifully returned to playing her songs.
