Happy 2nd anniversary! Here's to year 3 and...Vacations?

Hey heroes! Happy anniversary! Another year down!

Last year I announced some updates to the Saddlebag's schedule, which have since been ironed out and polished over the last twelve months. We're in a good spot right now, and I don't foresee any major schedule changes! That's great, since that means that we all know what we're in for for the long haul.

I would like to start taking vacations though! It's been two years now where I've been posting something every day, and I'd love to be able to take some time off and just be a non-internet-tethered being for a few days at a time. What I'd like to plan for are vacations that meet the following criteria:

  • No more than 2 weeks off at a time.

  • Up to 4 weeks off a year.

  • If taking more than 1 week off, split it up over the end of one month and the start of the next (so you don't get half-months of content).

  • Give you all a month's heads-up in advance.

  • My moderators can reach me in cases of something urgent.

  • Patreon. I'll try to time vacations around new Settings and the like so you  have some meatier content to look through while I'm on vacation. Potentially share free content from other 5e creators here as well.

  • Social Media. Have content from other creators fill in those daily post spaces to give them some facetime with a potentially different or larger audience. There are so many great 5e makers out there who deserve the attention.

My first anticipated 1-week vacation will be early next year when Dani and I move into our first house. We're very excited for the move, and while we haven't chosen anything yet, we're eager to start searching after January or so. Again, I'll keep you updated of its timing, etc., so that we're all on the same page and know what to expect.

As always, you're the best friends, colleagues, bosses, and heroes I could ask for. Thank you all so, so much for making all of this possible. I am so thrilled to be able to make this content for you and the rest of the community, and I am so grateful for your support and continued kindness. You all mean the world to me.

Until next time, keep on adventuring!

Mental wellbeing is super important. You deserve every bit of a vacation with how much content you have developed. Cheers to more years!

Like others have said, please take care of yourself! When I became a patron, I had no idea I'd be getting a new item daily (that's insane). You definitely deserve to take vacations to recharge! Thanks for all of the amazing content you've cranked out--I'd hate to see you burn yourself out!

Absolutely should go take a break. You have done incredible work for far longer than I've been a Patron. You deserve the vacation days!

How have you not gotten burnt out yet? Please take a break. I would much rather you be gone for a few weeks than see the slow decline or rapid disappearance that comes from burning out. Don’t even let your mods contact you. I work in AV and was taught a saying when I was running around with my head cut off. There’s no such thing as an emergency in AV. (Unless an amp is on fire, but even that isn’t mine to deal with). There’s most certainly no such thing as an emergency in DnD item/art creation. Enjoy your upcoming breaks with the comfort that you’ve got fans and supporters who will stick around and want the best for you.

You've.. never taken a break? I just assumed you had stuff set to like auto-post if you missed a day. also buying our first house sometime in the near future and I can tell you what a super fun stress free time that's been. /s

Dude! Just... take a vacation. You don't owe us every second of your time, and you don't owe us an explanation.
