Workshop Week 34 — Let's make the Vain Virtuoso's Violin

Hey Heroes! I'm live on Twitch!

Because of the COVID Outbreak, I'm streaming on Twitch to reach more people and hopefully reduce some of that growing cabin fever. Come on over to the channel and hang out with us tonight as I make this violin!

Hey heroes!

Let's make something about pride! A ton of awesome ideas this week! Remember that these are initial balances and writeups that are subject to change.

I'll be updating this post just before 7:30pm EST tonight with the stream link. You should get an email alerting you to the change! Picarto has, so far, been an overall more reliable host for streaming. Come hang out!

Ideas

• Vain Virtuoso's Violin  — (requires attunement by a bard) This finely-crafted instrument is inlaid with intricate pearl designs. When you give another creature a bardic inspiration die you gain one yourself, which is a d4.
Curse. When a creature (including yourself) fails an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw after applying the bonus from your bardic inspiration you take psychic damage equal to the number rolled on the bardic inspiration die as you lose faith in your own abilities.

• Ward of Supremacy — (requires attunement by a paladin)  A magnificent breastplate of gold and silver emblazoned with six angelic wings.    While wearing this magical armor, you gain a +1 bonus to your AC.
Aura of Supremacy. When a hostile creature within your paladin aura makes an attack roll against you or targets you with a spell, that creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be unable to target you until the start of their next turn.
Voice of Supremacy. You can cast the command spell at 3rd level three times and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Curse. This armor is cursed, and attuning to it extends the curse to you until you are targeted by a remove curse spell. While cursed, you gain the following personality traits:  Personality Trait. No matter the circumstance, I meet everything situation with bravado and confidence.
Ideal. I am flawless. The fault of failure rests on anyone but me.
Bond. When given the choice between saving someone in danger or saving myself, I will always save myself.
Flaw. I believe that everyone is beneath me. Anyone that I can't use to further my goals is useless and should be disregarded.

• Overlord's Ring — While wearing this ring, you can use it to cast the command spell at will (DC X), but you can only use it to command the target to "Kneel". On a failed save, the target falls prone and then ends its turn, and is frightened of you for 1 minute or until it takes damage. Once a creature has been targeted by this spell in this way, it is immune to it for 24 hours.
