Hey heroes!
Let's make something from the sky! A ton of awesome ideas this week! Choosing 3 was tough, so I chose 4. Remember that these are initial balances and writeups that are subject to change.
I'll be updating this post just before 7:30pm EST tonight with the Picarto link to the stream. You should get an email alerting you to the change! Picarto has, so far, been an overall more reliable host for streaming. Come hang out!
Ideas
Stormbrewer Bracers— A pair of silver bracers that are always slightly dewy. When in combat, they begin to churn and billow into clouds that turn darker and enraged with time. The bracers hold up to X charges and lose all charges after 1 minute. Each time you hit a creature with an unarmed attack with your fists, the bracers gain 1 charge and become darker and crackle with energy. Once they reach X charges, they snap with a crack of thunder and lightning, dealing Y damage to the target of the attack and lose all charges.
Aquila's Cry — A polished bronze horn with a muzzle fashioned in the shape of an eagle's head. As an action, you can blow this horn to release a torrent of howling wind in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in the cone must make a DC X Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes Y thunder damage and is pushed 15 feet. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pushed. In addition, unsecured objects that are completely within the area of effect are automatically pushed 15 feet away from you by the spell's effect, and the bellow of the horn audible out to 300 feet. Once used, the horn can't be used again for 24 hours.
Whirlwind Sling — This sling has wisps of elemental air sewn into its fabric. Attacks made with this magic weapon deal an additional 1d4 bludgeoning damage and their range is doubled. Additionally, when you take the attack action using this sling, you gain +2 AC against ranged attacks as the wind around you whirls to deflect projectiles.
Headdress of Twisted Rage — Requires attunement by a barbarian. This tribal headdress is made from mangled feathers of large birds that spiral outwards. A mild wind constantly whistles through the headdress. When you activate your Rage, a Tornado erupts from your head and swirls above you for the duration. You become deafened and gain +2 bonus to AC against ranged attacks for the duration of your rage. While you're raging, creatures within 10 feet of you fall if they are flying and must use twice the normal amount of movement speed to move away from you.
Let's make something fun! I'll see you tonight!

I like the sling, they're underutilized and I would love to see something support the old halfling slinger.
