Workshop Week 15 — What kind of item should we make?

Hey heroes!

Get ready for the next Wednesday Night Elite Workshop poll! Please vote on a direction below and comment with a general idea of an item you have that would fit the direction you voted for!  There will be a second poll tomorrow featuring up to three of your commented suggestions using the winning direction from the poll today.

I'll be going live tomorrow night, October 23rd at 7:30 pm EDT (GMT-4). You'll receive an email tomorrow evening with the exclusive Youtube link for you to come watch and participate! We'll figure out the exact mechanics together on stream before (and possibly while) I make the illustration for the most voted on item!

Remember that this will be an official Saddlebag item and will not credit anyone for the ideas generated through this process. Please only bring ideas you're comfortable with sharing to the workshop!

Let's make something exciting together! See you tomorrow!

Titan’s Net Weapon (net), legendary This net is made of the woven barbs of a roc’s feathers, with its corners weighted with roc talons, and extremely powerful magic keeps the net small enough to carry. When in its small form, the escape DC is increased to 15, the slashing damage requires to break is increased to 20, and it has resistance to non-magical slashing damage. When broken, it an only be fixed with a DC 25 weaver’s tools check after a full work-week or by a wish spell. Once per day as an action, you can speak the net’s command word to expand it to its full size, changing its attack range to 20/60 ft and allowing it to contain any creature that is Huge or larger. The DC to escape the net is increased to 30, and it reverts to its small size when it has taken 50 slashing damage in total (AC 20), with resistance to non-magical slashing damage.

Roc Charmer's Mandolin: When you play this Mandolin while interacting with Rocs, any check you make is made with advantage. The mandolin has 4 charges and recovers 1d4 charges every 7 days. As an action, you can play the mandolin and expend a charge to summon a Roc as a mount. The Roc is friendly to you and your companions, and is willing to ferry you over long distances. It has a travel pace of 12 miles per hour, can carry up to 12 people, and has a maximum carrying capacity of 3600 lbs. You can play the mandolin as a bonus action to command the Roc. The Roc can only take the dash, disengage, dodge, and hide actions during combat. The Roc does not need to eat, drink, or sleep, and it disappears after 24 hours, if it drops to 0 hit points, or if you dismiss it as a bonus action. Whenever a passenger falls off the Roc, it is considered to be under the effects of the Feather Fall spell until it lands.

Roc Glider Wondrous magic item, very rare This feather is fitted with a metal frame, allowing it to bend wind around its wielder with incredible ease. Once per day as an action, you can grab this glider with both hands and wave it towards the ground, creating a massive 15 ft diameter, 60 ft high cylinder of wind centered on you. Any creature caught in this cylinder must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be launched to the top of the column, falling immediately if they do not have a fly or hover speed. Additionally, when holding this feather with both hands your falling speed is reduced to 60, and you can use your movement while falling to move up to 120 ft horizontally.

Roc feather armor that would allow you as an action/bonus action to unfurl massive wings and fly 60ft. to a location you can see. Creatures within the area you left must make a save to avoid being knocked prone/taking damage. You can take a creature with you and perhaps even throw a grappled creature at the end of the 60ft.

Heavy Crossbow designed specifically against Huge + creatures. Dip into Hunter Ranger abilities: Colossus Slayer, Giant Killer, and Steel Will

Roc feather armor. Legendary. You have a fly speed of 40 feet, you count as 1 size larger, and you can use your action to turn into a roc (or young roc with giant eagle stats)

Roc Strikers. +1 AC bracers that grant a "wing attack". They would stay tucked in most of the time but unfurl and extend really wide. 15ft wide line attack.

Armor that turns your feet into talons if you fall more than 20 or 30 feet (vertically) before making an attack, giving you bonus damage and allowing you to grapple as a bonus action. Creatures grappled in this way are restrained (similar to roc ability)

A giant roc feather that allows the user to either A) Use the gust of wind spell or B) Do something similar to a dragon's wing attack (because why don't Rocs have that ability? lame) ALSO when used, the user can move/float/get blasted back up to half their move speed in the opposite direction that they direct the gust of wind/wing attack, or make a strength saving throw to stand their ground?

An item that can only be used outdoors that causes an illusory shadow of a roc to appear in the sky/on the ground. To make it seem as if one is circling overhead

Tiger pelt cape that grants keen smell and pounce ability

Omg, a pair of "murder mittens" from a tiger would be amazing <3

I’m imagining a tiger pelt cloak that maybe grants the pounce ability or advantage on stealth checks outdoors, just an uncommon item probably

Can we name the rock themed item Dwayne? :P
