Workshop Week 14 — What kind of item should we make?
Hey heroes!
Get ready for the next Wednesday Night Elite Workshop poll! Please vote on a direction below and comment with a general idea of an item you have that would fit the direction you voted for! There will be a second poll tomorrow featuring up to three of your commented suggestions using the winning direction from the poll today.
I'll be going live tomorrow night, October 16th at 7:30 pm EDT (GMT-4). You'll receive an email tomorrow evening with the exclusive Youtube link for you to come watch and participate! We'll figure out the exact mechanics together on stream before (and possibly while) I make the illustration for the most voted on item!
Remember that this will be an official Saddlebag item and will not credit anyone for the ideas generated through this process. Please only bring ideas you're comfortable with sharing to the workshop!
Let's make something exciting together! See you tomorrow!

Something with chameleons would be cool. e.g. An armor that changes its resistance when hit by an element type or a sword that can cast Absorb Elements once a day, and then get that damage type as additional damage (for a longer time period)
Serpent's Fang Amulet: While attuned to the amulet, you know the poison spray cantrip. As a bonus action, you can activate the amulet to grow fangs as a natural weapon. Your unarmed strikes with the fangs deal 1d6 piercing damage. You are proficient with these natural weapons, which are magical and have the finesse property, and you have a +1 bonus to the Attack and Damage Rolls you make using it. Additionally, once on each of your turns that you hit with an attack with your fangs, you can inject venom in your bite. The target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution Saving Throw or take 2d6 poison damage, or half as much on a success.
Viperskin Armor When you attune to this armor, the flesh of the snakeskin melts into your flesh, and the scales appear in random patches across your body. While wearing this armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC. In addition, you are resistant to poison damage and have advantage on saving throws to resist the poisoned condition. You can also use a bonus action to speak the armor's command word to contort and lengthen your body in a serpentine fashion, giving you advantage on checks to resist the grappled condition, as as well as advantage on ability checks to grapple others. When you grapple a creature while attuned to the armor, they are also restrained. While a creature is restrained by you due to the armor’s ability, you can use a bonus action to constrict the restrained creature and deal 2d6 bludgeoning damage.
gecko armor that allows you to "spider" climb and can activate a Sovereign Glue effect.
Snake eye Goggles/glasses/mask that let you hypnotize (incapacitate?) on a failed save, can hold for multiple rounds but you have to spend your turn maintaining eye contact and swaying rhythmically . Does not work on immune to charm enemies or blind enemies
I'm imagining either bug scaled armour like a heavily armoured beetle or pincer like twin swords... God damn I hope bugs win 😂
cold blooded scalemail: while wearing this armor, you can withstand extreme heat and extreme cold. Whenever you take fire or cold damage, you can use your reaction to become resistant to that triggering damage type until the end of your next turn. You gain the resistance after you take the damage.
Reptile mask that gives you blindsight by allowing you to sense body heat like a viper. Does not work on undead or constructs
A set of bracers that grants the "powerful build" feature.
Since reptile looks like it might win, something that makes you cold blooded so you have extra move speed in direct sunlight/heat, but are slower at night /in the cold
A beetle helmet with mandibles that let you grapple and keep 2 hands free
Griff, please, DINOSAUR ITEMS WOULD BE SO COOL! Triceratops shields with spikes on them. The Helmet of a Pachycephalosaurus (the hard headed dinosaur that headbutts things) for charging in and headbutting things.
Im thinking fishy scale armour, with either a dazzling effect, or maybe a swim speed and cold resistance
BUGS
