Medium Trenchcoat

Wondrous item, common

This long coat appears ordinary and is of a size appropriate for Medium humanoids.

Two or three Small humanoids can wear this coat simultaneously, sitting atop the shoulders of the creature below them to form a stack that resembles a single Medium humanoid. Their combined height can't exceed 7 feet.

While wearing the coat, other creatures have disadvantage on ability checks made to discern if the creatures are a single Medium humanoid or multiple smaller ones. Furthermore, creatures that are part of the stack (but not at the top) can see through the trenchcoat, although only in shades of gray, and their limbs appear magically proportionate to a Medium-sized creature.

Creatures in the stack have disadvantage on Dexterity checks and Dexterity saving throws. Whenever a creature within the stack takes damage, it must also succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, all creatures within the stack fall prone in the nearest available spaces.

One’s on the bottom, strong is he.
Two’s in the middle, carrying Three.
Three’s pretending not to be;
Three kobolds in a trench coat!
