Heroic Ideas — Spellcasting Component week! Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Horn of Plenty — A magical cornucopia that produces exquisite foods each day. It can be used as the material component for a heroes feast spell, with a cooldown, and grants extra temporary hit points when used as such.

2) Bombardier Beetle Powder — A special spellcasting component for fireball and delayed blast fireball. When used, a creature that fails the saving throw must also succeed on another save or be temporarily stunned by the blast.

3) Quarter-Farthing — You can use this coin to recreate the effects of detect thoughts by clenching it in your fist. Doing so allows you to detect surface level thoughts for a duration, without any obvious indication that you cast the spell.

4) Espionage Cord — This spellcasting component can be used when casting message or sending. When you do, you and the receiving creature's thoughts are protected from detection, and a creature that tries to hear them may take lightning damage from the intrusion.

5) Fluttering Fleece — This fleece can be used as part of casting an illusion spell. When used as such, a creature can physically touch the illusion. Applying more than 50 pounds of force to the illusion ends the effect, and the illusion's AC is equal to your spellcasting save DC.

6) Infernal Coal — When used to cast the darkness spell, you can choose a number of creatures to be immune to its effects.

7) Page of Unwritten Prayers — A selection of old prayers from a magical prayerbook. You can use its remaining pages as part of casting the shield of faith spell, adding extra benefits to the spell depending on the expended page's prayer.

Keep on adventuring!
