Eagle-Eyed Tricorn

Wondrous item, uncommon

This blue three-pointed hat features brass accents in the likeness of an eagle. While wearing it, the normal range of your ranged weapon attacks is increased by half (rounded down to the nearest 5 feet), up to a maximum increase of 30 feet.

In addition, you can use a bonus action while wearing the hat to speak its command word, briefly enhancing your vision. When you do, you have advantage on the next Wisdom (Perception) check you make before the end of your next turn, and you also have advantage on the next ranged weapon attack you make before then, even if it would normally be made with disadvantage as a result of attacking at long range. These benefits end early if you're no longer wearing the hat. This property can't be used again until the next dawn.

'Shoot when you can see the whites of their eyes' is easier when you can see 'em from farther away.

Once a day for advantage to Perception checks for just 1 turn? That's ludicrous for an attunement slot. Likewise, advantage to just one ranged attack per day is extremely weak when so many other items do more for less. I'd increase use to once per short rest, ***OR*** just give Expertise with Perception checks while attuned. Do that, and the 1x/day advantage attack is more attractive and might be actually worth an attunement slot for certain builds. I like the +50% range, but there's no way to apply that in D&D Beyond, so it has to be penciled in manually for each ranged weapon or spell.

Hey! This doesn't take an attunement slot!

This thing shouldn’t be uncommon, the only reason it is is because the ability is only usable once a day
