Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Narrator's Bookmark — This red leather bookmark has a rounded end and is creased in the middle. When placed inside an open book you can speak its command word, causing it to animate like a tongue, reading the book aloud in the language it was written and continues until it finishes the page.

2) Flask of Blue Flame — A crystal flask with a pale blue, liquid flame. You can pour out a drop to create a fire that produces either a cooling or warming effect, and additional drops can be added to increase the size and damage the fire does.

3) Beagle Light Bracelet — A silver bracelet that lets you summon a glowing canine companion who provides light to you and can also stand guard for up to 8 hours.

4) Treasure Hunter’s Chapeau — A wide brimmed hat that gives bonuses to Intelligence (Investigation) or Charisma (Persuasion) checks when gathering information on treasure. Additionally, when you fail a saving throw against a trap, you can use your reaction to releport to safety.

5) Protest Paper — A small square of yellow paper that you can use with a reaction to gain advantage on a saving throw against an area of effect spell cast by a friendly creature, negating or reducing the damage taken.

6) Breathing Room — A well-worn and battered firearm used by experienced lawmen. When you hit a creature with this weapon, you can expend a charge to either push your target back or to propel yourself backward without provoking opportunity attacks.

7) Staff of the Crossroads — A quarterstaff made from a crossroads sign with four separate signs pointing in different directions. You can use charges to dictate the direction of a creatures movement, or use the staff to detect the nearest settlements or well-known landmarks.
