26 days until Books Three and Four: Deluxe covers, bonus stickers, and more.
Hey heroes!
In these days leading up to the Kickstarter for books Three and Four, I wanted to chime in and show off some of the work I've been up to these last few weeks. You can see a still from the Kickstarter video up above, which I just wrapped up last week. The crew I worked with did an incredible job realizing the vision I had for it, and I can't wait to show it do you on the 1st.
If you haven't already followed the Kickstarter campaign, it takes a single click and guarantees you a notification when it launches on the 1st.
Deluxe Covers
I've put together a render of the classic and deluxe covers: they're intentionally designed to let you put them next to each other and form a continuous image. Some thoughtful Saddlebag motifs show up in the deluxe versions' designs, and I'm really pleased with how they've turned out.
Previous Books and Cards
I've also gotten some questions asking if you'll be able to get Books One and Two during the Kickstarter: yes. You'll also be able to get their cards, which are being reprinted and packaged in all-inclusive boxes alongside book-specific trinkets for those books, too.
Speaking of the cards, are some additional sketches for the pins you'll be find with the ones for books Two through Four (the Saddlebag pin will remain in Book One's). These box sets come alongside other book-specific iron-on-patches, stickers, and postcards, so each pack of cards is the all-included pack of loot per book. It's a huge value, and I'm so excited for you to get your hands on them! I'll be able to share more of them in the next few weeks.
Bonus Stickers for Double Backers
I also got to make some themed stickers for Saddlebag supporters that pick up a copy of the Skellies rulebook. If you think these look cool, you'll probably like the book! It's chock full of the same sort of art, and I still maintain that it's the best game you can play if someone calls out of D&D night. You can read the book and start playing for totally free at playskellies.com. The rules are short—you can fit them on the inside of the cover!
I also made a single-page adventure for Skellies called Old MacDonald's Menagerie of the Undead that you can use to start playing immediately. It's got just enough in it to get you up and running, and has tons of delightful illustrations. You can fold it and turn into a handheld zine with a single cut (A4).

That's it for now—I hope you're excited about what's to come! If aren't already, you can follow the Kickstarter with a single click right here. It helps me out, and it gets you a notification the second that the campaign launches.
I'm working really hard in between these magic items to build something I'm extremely proud of, and I'm so excited to share it all with you once the campaign for Books Three and Four launches on September 1st!
Until then, I'll keep plugging away, and I'll show you more as I have it!
Talk soon, and keep on adventuring!

For Skellies, is there a chance we could get a DM screen for the game? Even something small with all the important tables and rules reminders would be very helpful
If the game is successful enough I will *happily* make one!
Can't wait! Your content is awesome!
Thanks Vincent!
Will they be marked as 5e or 5.5e?
They'll work with both—thankfully, most of what I do makes it pretty simple to work in between the two versions so they're equally compatible. If you're already enjoying Saddlebag content, you'll be fine! If you haven't already checked out the nearly 200-page preview, you can see for yourself what to expect (and how I address differences between versions). It's more or less all explained in the intro(s). https://saddleb.ag/3n4Preview
