Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!
Hey heroes!
Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.
You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!
You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.
Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!
Ideas
1) Owlbear Blood Mead — This red honey mead isn't actually made from owlbear, but grants the drinker a bonus to Perception checks that rely on sight for one minute. An uncommon variant of the drink lasts for 1 hour and grants an additional bonus of Perception checks that rely on smell. You also fall under the alter self spell, granting you owlbear claws and a thick coat of feathers for the duration.
2) Wild Carver — A magical common knife that's used by rangers and other survivalists to better butcher wild prey. Using the dagger or shortsword grants the wielder a static bonus to any Wisdom (Survival) check that it makes to salvage parts from a beast.
3) Spectre's Spice — A small spice bag that when sprinkled onto food causes it to gain a horrific illusory appearance while not actually changing the flavor.
4) Mug of Something Else — A mug enchanted with fey magic, any beverage poured into it magically becomes something similar, such as water to juice, or mead to wine.
5) Rollicking Rolling Pin — A baker’s rolling pin that doubles the duration of magical baked goods. Once per day, you can speak the command word and cause the rolling pin to transform into a giant version of itself, rolling over everything in its path before you can recall it back to your hand.
6) Gastronomicon — A spellbook disguised as a cookbook, you gain a bonus while brewing or cooking and gain access to spells such as create food and water, goodberry, and plant growth. Additionally, you can expend charges to reduce the spell level cost for the book's culinary spells, swap cold and fire damage, and create small magical treats that offer a random benefit.
7) Cinnamimics — A box of cinnamon rolls shaped like tiny objects, frosted with mimic ooze. Eating one temporary transforms you into that object for up to an hour.
Keep on adventuring!
