Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Hey heroes!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!

You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Shroud of the Unsanctified — This cloak is comprised of gauze and grants the wearer resistance to necrotic damage. In addition, you can grant temporary hit points to creatures that are unable to regain hit points, including undead.

2) Bracers of the Sharpened Mind — These black bracers feature glowing purple runes and deal additional psychic damage on your unarmed strikes or attacks with finesse weapons. As a bonus action, you can force a psionic splinter into a creature's mind, dealing psychic damage and potentially causing vulnerability to psychic damage.

3) Steel Courtesy — This slender scabbard resembles a fine cane with a hole at its top. Any sword or blade can be sheathed in the scabbard, magically stored in its extradimensional space. The scabbard appears to be a non-magical cane, though may take on a visual motif of a magic sword stored within.

4) Ghost Rider Spurs — These dark metal spurs are worn around your boots and emanate a ghastly rattle of chains. You can cast the find steed spell to summon a nightmare that deals fire damage and grants you fire resistance. You and the nightmare can also slip into the ethereal plane. While mounted, you can cast a a haunting gaze at an opponent, causing them to be frightened.

5) Hushwing Poncho — This lightweight poncho is embroidered with an owl feather design. If your armor would cause you to roll Stealth checks at disadvantage, wearing the poncho would allow you to roll them without disadvantage. You also gain a bonus to Perception checks and initiative. If you are a rogue, you may use your Cunning Action dash to fly, as the poncho lifts you.

6) Mantle of the Drifting Medusa — A strange and translucent cloak, seemingly made of a gelatinous jellyfish. You can use the cloak to cast the gust of wind spell from it and float along on the wind created by it, like a bubble. A creature in the way of your floating may be poisoned by it.

7) Aeronaut’s Bowler Hat — A bowler hat reinforced with horizontal metal bands and small vertical pipes along the crown. Flipping a switch on the inside causes a pair of handles to extend out the sides and a small hot air balloon to inflate from the crown. You gain a fly speed and can levitate while the balloon is inflated.

Keep on adventuring!
