Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!

Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.

Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!

Ideas

1) Thunder Bolt — A crossbow bolt infused with the power of thunder. It emits a thunderous boom when fired and when you hit a creature, the target and all other creatures within range take thunder damage instead of the weapon's normal damage. Additionally, creatures in the area must succeed on a saving throw or be deafened.

2) The Kitchen Sink — This musket has a comically wide flared end. It can fire standard ammunition, but can also be loaded with materials at the start of the day. You can violently expel those materials as an action, blasting them in a cone to damage your foes.

3) Emblem of Escape — A brooch bearing the emblem of a nimble cat. While wearing it, you gain a bonus to Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks to escape grapples, and when hit by an attack, you can expend a charge to gain temporary hit points instead and randomly teleport up to 30 feet away.

4) Protest Paper — A small square of yellow paper that you can use with a reaction to gain advantage on a saving throw against an area of effect spell cast by a friendly creature, negating or reducing the damage taken.

5) Mask of the Golden Lion — A crafted golden half-mask made in the likeness of a lion’s snarling visage. While wearing the mask, you gain a bonus to AC and advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks, and can unleash a thunderous roar when you attack. Additionally, you can polymorph yourself into an empowered lion form once per day.

6) Silver Tongue Ring — A silver tongue ring that magically binds itself to your skin as if it were an actual piercing. While wearing it, once per day, you can use the Subtle Spell metamagic option. Additionally, if it's an enchantment spell and the target isn't hostile, it has disadvantage on the save.

7) Fighter's Arsenal — A dark, small magnetic rod that can be linked to up to 3 additional rods to act as a variety of weapons, increasing the attack and damage bonus as well as AC. You can transform the rods into a shield that gives you a bonus against ranged attacks made with metal weapons or ammunition, or transform it into a ranged weapon that creates its own ammo.
