Heroic Ideas — Choose 2 community item ideas to be made!
Hey heroes!
Each week on Discord, community members nominate other members' suggested items to be made into official Saddlebag items. The top two most voted-for item ideas each week get made, following back and forth workshopping and discussion.
You can submit your ideas on Discord, too! Come join us in the #patron-item-workshop channel!
You may recognize some returning item suggestions! Items can be renominated and re-drawn for weekly polls following a week-long cooldown.
Here are the randomly selected item ideas drawn from this week's nominations!
Ideas
1) Mage Slayer’s Aegis — This large shield has intricate teeth patterns around its edges. While attuned to it, you gain a bonus when making a spell saving throw, and can potentially regain hit points based on the level of spell cast against you.
2) Rakhans Guard — A wooden scabbard for clerics that can't be used to sheath normal weapons. While attuned to it, you always has the spiritual weapon spell prepared, and you can prolong the duration of the spell by sheathing it in the scabbard, allowing you to summon it again without expending another spell slot.
3) Coins of the Messenger Pigeons — This small set of wooden coins depicts a set of unique messenger pigeons, one in a cage and one flying free. You can use a coin to send a piece of parchment or other similar items to the location of the matching coin.
4) Spectral Pipe Organ — A brooch that can summon a spectral pipe organ, if there is space, that acts as a spellcasting focus and can increase the range of your spells, but your speed is reduced and creatures very far away can hear you.
5) Rattler Battlers — The heads of these strange clubs are rattlesnake rattles, somehow expanded and bent to form the typical rounded shape, and can also be used as maracas. You can use them if you're proficient with drums, can add your proficiency bonus when you attack with them, and can summon a swarm of poisonous snakes.
6) Mantle of the Umbral Jaguar — This midnight black mantle is crowned with a jaguar's head as a hood. You gain bonuses to Dexterity (Stealth) checks, and creatures have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks made against you. You can also expend charges to allow you to hide or make a surprise attack on a target. If you're a druid, you gain additional bonuses to your Wild Shape as you take on the aspect of a shadow jaguar.
7) Tome of the Arcane Infinite — A hefty encyclopedia with an infinite number of vellum pages inside that hold arcane knowledge from across the planes. While attuned, you gain a bonus to your Intelligence score and Intelligence (Arcana) skill checks. You can spend time trying to research any mystical- or arcane-based topic with the book, gaining additional knowledge on a successful check, though failure will leave you in a befuddled state for some time.
Keep on adventuring!
