Semibreve Rework (Final)

Hiya!

In preparation for the upcoming 'Persephone' patch. I think it's appropriate to give the nuke a remaster. Especially since the mythical cluster nuclear is coming and to be installed on that ship in the video...

Rest assured, It's still work in progress but it won't be just a visual effect changes though. With it comes balance as well. You guys might know that the weapon currently have three damage ticks. One big frontal damage then followed by secondary and tertiary finisher. Now there'll be at least five or six in order to spread out and have different damage type per tick.

It's likely that the Semibreve will deal the following effects within area of effect, damage will be randomized with min and max limit.

The listed numbers represent max damage ceiling.

  1. 4000 EN, 750 EMP and a primary implosion that pull things inward and closer to the fireball.

  2. 2750 EN, 1000 FRAG, a secondary implosion but weaker pull strength.

  3. 4000 EN, 750 EMP, 2000 bonus fragmentation damage, followed by a high strength expulsion to push everything outward.

  4. 500 KE, 350 EMP and 1750 bonus FRAG damage

  5. 350 HE, 200 EMP and 1500 bonus FRAG damage

What do you guys think? Lemme know watcha think.

Im happy to see that mod devs are still working on this game. Well done!

I wish there was a more toned down semibreve version. I want to put Persephone into battle, but having semibreve (and especially meitou semibreve) trivializes all combat, which kills my interest, so she gets sidelined forever. :(

The new Songbird class will have swappable main weaponry. 1. Meitou Semibreve (L) ( Guided WMD ) 2. Meitou Semiquaver (L) ( Guided MIRV WMD ) 3. Meitou Minirest (L) ( Non-WMD ) / To be determined

I would say the 2nd pull breaks the flow a bit. One would expect an explosion when the first pull in is done and would not expect to see a 2nd pull in happening.

The Semibreve has always had a hilarious synergy with the Scyan Navy's Singularity Torpedo launcher. Fire one of them with a Semibreve trailing a bit behind, directly at a fleet ball, and congratulations, your single Persephone, or any other missile boat just single-handedly one shot an entire fleet by itself. I have even done just this. Deployed a single Persephone, and left it on auto with a singularity launcher and watch the battle turn into a ship dancing circus. I dare everyone to try it. Its amazing.

Heck yeah!

Even more reason to use them! The frag bonus damage really pushes the finisher part of the missile, the changes look really good!!

Absolutely amazing

Seems pretty effective, with the stacking damage ticks. Though with a single solid target, it only gives us what the end result for a single, non-defending target. I think it would be good to also showcase it against a small fleet or so to really get an idea of effectiveness of the rework.

It is certainly pretty. Seems like the aoe is smaller, which is good. Fleet killing collateral should be reserved for the biggest version.

So it's like a buff of sorts? Hey, I never complain, so long as I see big boom, I'm a happy man. The only thing that would make me happier is letting the queen use my face as a thronednekfhhdj

The original Semibreve was three bursts of up to 8000 EN damage, another 1250 EN damage, and 1250 Frag respectively. Or in other words a total of up to; 9250 EN damage 1250 Frag damage. The new Semibreve's max damage values are: 10,750 EN damage 2,050 EMP damage 500 KE damage 350 HE damage And 6,250 Frag damage. That’s an extra 1500 EN damage, an extra *5,000* frag damage, and a bit of kinetic and HE on top for good measure. Plus a total of 2,050 EMP delivered over four bursts, which should disable the survivors real good. The maximum damage of each individual burst is lower so it’s a theoretical nerf to its armor cracking capabilities, but it’s a fair bit more damage added in (even if it’s mostly in fragmentation damage) which should be a noticeable boost to it’s abilities to finish off lesser armored foes. Especially if I'm correct in assuming the 'bonus frag damage' is a set value rather than a randomized one. So overall a bit of a sidegrade but mostly a buff, assuming the min values don’t make the performance deviate too bad or anything. Do kinda wish we got to see it preform against armor though.

At this point I want to know what the explosive yield is. We lookin at Fat Man’s in space?

Has to be far beyond fat man. Nukes dont actually have that large of an AOE blast in space.

It’s going to depend on just how strong the pull of the implosion is going to be compared to different mass of ships, and how wide the pull will be. Other than that they are still my most fav missile compared to most mods out there.
