Jennie is such a good co-host for this show, and I'm glad she's made time to be a consistent guest! It's so much fun.
Every episode with Jennie is a treat. It would be amazing to have Craig on the next episode.
aw, we missed out on a possible Jennie guest episode. I feel like Jennie should be the default cohost with guest hosts either in addition or subbing out, and some solo Shawn ones if Jennie isn't feeling it or is too busy. Hope to see Shawn's Dad aka Craig aka Sombrero Guy next week (or Garrett, I'd never turn down a Garrett guest spot)
This one wasn’t bad, some bangers in there for sure. 3/5 for me. Velvet Underground sucks. I truly don’t get it either.
Jennie’s back! 🙌 I can appreciate what this album did for the industry - the release was so mind-blowing that as a result, new releases were changed from Tuesdays to Fridays! That’s the power of Beyonce, folks! …But I did not enjoy listening to it, much. I was trying to give it a fair shot and then Jay-Z’s line about Ike Turner came on and it really soured me on listening. Maybe it’s because of all the abusive relationship Celebrity Costumes this Halloween, maybe Tina Turner’s recent passing? It was a turn-off. Haunted, Blow, XO and Blue were the stand-outs for me. I’m Waiting For the Man still rules - it’s just so driving and anxious. Patti Smith is cool, her cover of Gloria is legendary - Jesus died for somebody’s sins but not mine.
I don't think this one was for me. I thought a lot of tracks were boring. Definitely the first two. Angels is garbage (sorry Jennie). There's some good stuff, like Partition, Drunk in Love, Jealous, Superpower. But yea, the whole girl power sexy mama thing isn't resonating with this 32 year old cis white male, and that's fine. 2-2.5/5. The Velvet Underground song was ok
