been going back through movie club since becoming a member of the patreon and really loving these old episodes, it has such a fun energy with derrick involved. i was surprised that kate's christmas story wasn't mentioned at all in this review, since that part of the movie has always been the most memorable to me. it's such a strange moment for the gremlin chaos to suddenly stop so this girl can share her traumatic backstory based on an urban legend.
Joe Dante also partially directed the Ramones vehicle Rock 'n' Roll High School, which was originally supposed to star Cheap Trick or Todd Rundgren.
Mad world has some pretty choice moments.
These movie clubs are great, I always listen then track down the movie. I'd love to see you're thoughts on The Warriors.
Yeah i've done the same! Ended up buying That Thing you Do on DVD
Next episode is IT’S A MAD MAD MAD MAD WORLD (1963)!
It's free on the official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhxxGDcWWoc
Shawn might be thinking of Critters 2 with the giant rolling ball.
