None of the more “fan servicey” bits bothered me cuz they mostly all made sense. It’s played as a sequel to the movie version while reincorporating bits Kubrick omitted or changed. Why did Jack show up? Cuz in the movie, the hotel claimed him, so of course he would Why is the overlook actually revisited? Cuz Kubrick decided not to have it destroyed. Why do so many “good guys” get killed in doctor sleep the movie when they weren’t in the book? Cuz Kubrick shining was a fuckin mean movie too lmao
This movie sucks. The whole time i was just waiting for him to go to the Hotel and come to find out it doesnt happen until the last 10 mins of the movie. It would have been way better if he had spent most of his time at the hotel maybe discovering how the hotel manipulated or unlocked jack's aggression or something along those lines. The hotel is is the star of the shining not jack or danny.
Wasn't the sizzling fajitas guy on your podcast? 😭
Did you guys watch Rental Family? I finally just saw it and thought you might have some thoughts.
The Kiki headz will be keeping an eye on what you say Shawn
Are you guys going to do Project Hail Mary?
Looking forward to watching this. The job Flanagan did felt like an impossible task, yet, he made a movie that was faithful to the book, but also a faithful sequel to the movie version of The Shining.
This is my favorite Flanagan movie. The thought of a sequel to the shining sounds like bullshit but it ends up being a fantastic resolution. The movie does such a good job at trying to repair the mistakes of the Shining movie too.
