Mega64 Movie Club: House (1977)
Hey everyone! Time to watch the biggest movie that came out in 1977 the Japanese Horror cult classic House. Did we love it... or were we too scared? Gotta watch to find out.

Just a real quick primer on 'house' in Japanese: Native word for house is ie (家). The title of this movie is just the English word for house transcribed in katakana. Katakana is the phonetic alphabet they use for loan words. If you pronounce it in Japanese it's "Hausu" but the title of the movie is House. I agree completely, in English call it 'House'.
Im so excited for TCM, its honestly a brilliantly horrifying movie
They hated it, lol
I’m surprised you guys haven’t covered Ghibli stuff on this show as I feel most of those would be more up Shawn’s alley. Shawn might enjoy the dub of Porco Rosso (Michael Keaton as the lead) and Kiki’s Delivery Service taps into dealing with creative block which resonates with me as an art boy lol
Would love if they had Garrett on next week for Texas chainsaw Massacre. It would be similar to the Trainspotting episode and I really enjoyed that one.
I like getting Shawn's perspective on movies that are outside his wheelhouse, it's what gives Movie Club its unique flavor
Any movie that isn’t Dave is outside his wheelhouse
part of the fun of movie club is wondering "what classic will filter Shawn next?"
Rocco definitely cranked it to this movie
I thinks that’s literally a felony
I actually love that you guys both have such different opinions on this. Makes it a much more interesting discussion than if you both just gave it a 3
Shawn finally gets his payback for Princess Bride
Incredible ratings
I saw this at a house show my band was playing at a few years ago. Very bizarre but fun!
I'm genuinely curious, does Shawn like anything that is even slightly older, violent, different, not mainstream? Or is it just 80s/90s blockbusters and baseball movies? Probably would make sense to have a movie discussion show with more than one person who enjoys or understands cinema. This is why when someone like Garrett is on an episode it suddenly becomes that much more enjoyable.
