Mega64 Vault: Nintendo Direct September 2025 with Rocco

Dinkum is fun and it's fun to say :)

I don't think we're getting anything about Mario for awhile so I'd let go of that expectation. Nintendo has basically stopped announcing games that aren't going to arrive in the next 6 - 12 months.

Can't believe Nintendo's doing anything with Virtual Boy. I think they've only referenced it two or three times officially in like, WarioWare microgames and Smash trophies. Buying that headset for sure.

I'm honestly kinda turned off by Metroid going open world. Feels like it goes against Metroid's whole philosophy of you being stuck in these intricate, labyrinthine areas that Samus navigates with whatever she can find. Giving you a motorcycle and having you ride around everywhere, especially in a giant empty landscape like they showed, feels pointless. I was already tired of open world games by the time this current console generation started up, and it's just kinda bumming me out seeing Nintendo inject it into all their games now.

I think the Metroid announcement was to show like.. Samus also has a bike in an open world now no? as like a big surprise because I reacted strong to that

My most anticipated game is still Tomodachi Life 2 and just the release window alone made this a 10/10 direct
