Mega64 Movie Club: Anora

This week, we check out Anora, the current favorite to win Best Picture and the latest from Sean Baker. Starring Mikey Madison, this one really stuck with us—but was it in a good way? We break down what hit, what didn’t, and why this movie is still on our minds.

Love your guys’ thoughts on this! Another detail I thought was super interesting is Anora mentions she learned Russian from her grandmother — so she is also a quarter Russian at least, and a relationship with her grandmother puts her even more in-line with Igor.

I thought I was absolutely crazy when I was dying in theater at the zoom in on the old owner of the candy shop after it’s busted up & the theater was totally silent

Emilia Pérez, as bad as it is (I don't think it's THAT bad), still deserves to be pronounced correctly. They went out of their way to use the accent mark on the first syllable even in the American market. Be the first podcasters to actually pronounce this correctly!

I mean they gave Selena Gomez a Spanish speaking role when she doesn't even speak Spanish, so they're good.

I nearly crashed my car today because, while commuting (driving to work and home after I finished work), this is the same file as The Substance! I could not believe the mostly crisp sound coming out of my speakers and, in disbelief, nearly crashed. Good episode, though, nonetheless.

Another great .mp3 file, appreciate that. I will still click the YouTube link to give the view, like, and comment (hope everyone does) as soon as I'm home because I'm driving back from work right now (I'm a commuter). Really bold choice of going 441000 Hz instead of 48kHz, you risk-takers bringing that 192 bitrate flair to the max. It will pay off, I'm sure.
