At 300+ Fights - This is my daily training regimen (49 min)

Since about 2020, I've been piecing my training together between various gyms, krus and padmen I admired, driving to different locations in Pattaya (and once a week even all the way to Bangkok), just so I could get the basics of high level padwork, clinching, a social space that embraced traditional Muay Thai, and emotional support. The disruption of COVID, combined with my former gym no longer wanting to develop fighters, made this my pathway for the past 6 years and it was a difficult stress of feeling displaced and just making it up as I went along, although I developed a lot of skills and self-training habits that have been vital to my progress. (In truth, I've always had a more "quilting" process of training.)

On some of our trips up to Bangkok, we'd go see Namsaknoi for a private session and were shocked and thrilled to hear from him that Mavinn was building a Pattaya location, which Namsaknoi would head. They opened for training in May of 2026 and I wasn't sure what the gym (being new and all) would look like after the first month, and it's still being shaped, but it has been a wonderful space for me to be able to, for the first time in a long time, organize the majority of my training around a single gym. The video above is an idea of what my week of training looks like, just shot on my phone to give a keyhole view, no attempt at staging or idealizing any element. I've voiced-over the video to give context or expound on the experience I have in my training, so turn the sound on if that interests you.

you can see the spreadsheet more clearly here - its just a sketch of what I do, I'm still developing it.

For those that haven't been following me long, I came to Thailand in 2012 to live and fight, and embarked on a very serious commitment to the sport, which now has totaled over 300 fights fought. During the first several years I wrote voluminously on my blog 8limbsus.com, totalling over 1,000 articles, mostly detailing my experiences in training and encounters with the sport and culture of Thailand's Muay. Below are two articles that reached wider audiences, and connect up with my training now. They give some perspective.

My Daily Training - Love The Grind (2015)

When I trained full time at Petchrungruang gym AND also with Phetjee Jaa every evening. At some point I was also was doing padwork at WKO gym...

The Myth of Overtraining (2014)

This was a controversial article at the time, when I embraced the Dan Gable more-is-more philosophy for both training and fighting...

Hi Sylvie!! I've been a little behind with your videos and I'm starting with this one:) I wanted to tell you how happy I am for you that you have found a home gym. I love that you found a space that makes you feel like you belong.

Thank you for thinking of it! My long time supplier of custom shorts is no longer available, someone I really trusted. I'm not sure its something I want to wade into. But that's a great idea as well.

A timely article after I just took a week off to recover from “burnout”. Very important and much needed reminder about under-resting vs over-training. Really puts things into perspective, thank you for that.

Not yet watched this, but wanted to first say just how much I appreciate content like this. The reserve the legacy private sessions are obviously amazing and have established a precedent that nobody else has rivalled in Muay Thai content creation… But this is also very much a missing piece that we rarely see - the every day training. I’m sure this video is as valuable as all the rest 🔥🙏🏻
