Important Development Update
Hi everyone.
First of all, I sincerely apologize for the short period of silence.
Usually, I try to share updates with you when the situation is already clear and there is a concrete plan in place. If a problem is solvable, I prefer to focus on resolving it first — or at least bring it to a point where it’s clear how I’m going to move forward.
Right now, I’m facing extremely difficult challenges with the Steam release and work on the new build. Over the past month and a half, my team has been under immense pressure due to the situation in Ukraine. This is not about reduced productivity — it’s about disruptions to basic necessities such as heating and electricity.
In reality, the team has been operating in survival mode and can work, at best, only a few hours a day. During the worst periods, there is no electricity for 18–36 hours straight — even EcoFlow units don’t have time to recharge. On better days, power is available for just a couple of hours, and even that depends on luck. And this is happening in the capital of Ukraine.
Under these conditions, we are going through a critically difficult phase of development, amid prolonged uncertainty and a lack of decisions that could stabilize the situation.
I traveled to Ukraine to support the team and help in any way I can, and I’m still staying with them to personally experience the conditions they are working in. It’s extremely hard to put into words.
This experience has clarified a lot for me. If I ever decide to make a game about survival in extreme conditions, I now truly understand what that actually means and what kind of reality it involves.
I’m doing everything in my power to optimize, simplify, and organize the workflow as much as possible, but in the current circumstances this is incredibly difficult. Almost the entire available budget was directed toward stabilizing the team, and right now any additional resources directly affect the speed of recovery.
Some members of the team needed help relocating: a few were moved from the capital to quieter areas, while others remained in the city. One key member of the team, together with his wife and their cat, was able to relocate to the Czech Republic and is currently staying there. If you live in the Czech Republic and have any possibility to help — with housing, advice, or any kind of support — we would be deeply grateful.
Feel free to send me a direct message, and I’ll be happy to connect you with them.
Now for the good news.
After all these forced steps and difficult organizational decisions, I can say with cautious optimism and hope that development has resumed. Not at full capacity yet, but it is progress.
The team is now in places where they are able to continue working. Because of that, I can confidently say that February will bring two long-awaited milestones:
— a new game build featuring a major new story episode and new intimate scenes;
— the launch of the game’s Steam page.
Thank you for your support, patience, and trust. In moments like these, it truly means a lot.
I deeply appreciate that you stay with the project and help it move forward even under such difficult circumstances.
Now that I’m back home, I’ll continue to keep you updated on all further steps.
Stay tuned,
Tom
