New Superprop Video is UP!
I just posted the next video in the Superprop series. It's on the F4U-5 Corsair, which was the fastest Corsair built, even faster (at altitude) than the F2G Super Corsair.
This will only be add free for a very short time. I have to make it go public tomorrow.

Greg,
P.S. I'll get that documentation from Chance Vought and the "intelligence" report on the Yak 9 battle on the Drive in the next update. That should be middle of next month.

Greg this video was just fantastic. I expect that 50 years from now people will still be watching your videos and learning volumes. The machines are timeless, much of the technology now superannuated lost art, and the aircraft themselves harder to find and touch. I really believe as you enable us all to more thoroughly "nerd out" on this material, that you are keeping the memory of these machines alive. Great job, and please keep it up.
Chris, the reason to keep the engine mounted supercharger was two fold. Yes it does help with fuel distribution, but that issue could be solved other ways. The main reason it's there is to increase the manifold pressure. In the case of the 32W you need it, otherwise you would have only a single stage of supercharging (the other two are one stage but done with two superchargers). Dual stages are much better, especially at high altitudes.
Sacha, I think the La-7 was the best Soviet fighter of the war.
I agree
Wasn’t the first supercharger on an air cooled radial mostly used for better fuel distribution? Perhaps this why the -32w kept the legacy sc behind the engine? I apologize if this was covered on one of your previous videos. Sometimes I know things but cannot remember where or how I know them🤓. It it was covered then, kudos you are a great teacher! P.S. love the video, thanks for the effort
You kind of beat up the Yak 9. What do you think the best Soviet piston fighter was?
Great video Greg, thanks for posting. I love the Corsair (almost as much as the Sea Fury) but I had no idea the Dash 5's performance across the board. I've only flown the Dash 4 in sims but it's such a joy to fly.
Hi Ken, yes, that's exactly what it means. The Dash 5's maximum speed of 468mph is up very high where the F2G can't perform. However the F2G's maximum speed of about 430mph is down at 16,000 feet, where it can easily out run the Dash 5. I hope that helps.
Thanks, Greg, I can't wait to see this. Question, by saying "at altitude", does that mean at the optimum altitude for efficient operation of the respective aircraft?
