New Ki-84 video is up, It's about speed.

Published speeds for the Ki-84 are all over the place, ranging from 388 to 427. I felt the need to nail that down in order to have a reasonable comparison with the Allied fighters. This took more space than I thought, so I turned it into a stand alone video. There will be more Ki-84 stuff very soon which will cover the other aspects of performance.

The video is up, when it went public it went to a new link. Youtube won't let me have two version (public and non public) of the same video up at the same time.

Hey Greg, did the "Ki-84 Speed Video" get taken down? The link doesn't work. 🤔 It says "This video has been removed by the uploader"

I’ve been a WW2 airplane geek since I was a little kid (50 years) but oddly knew:know almost nothing of this particular plane. Thanks Greg!

Given the technical ability of this plane, It’s probably a good thing we had eroded both the manufacturing and pilot quality of Japan by the time this was more widely available in combat.

The Speed is a worthy subject in its own right, by God! :)

I have not been able to locate the Ki-84 information in the folder listed above.

Hi Robert, the Ki-84 stuff will go up with the final video, which should be within a week at the most.

Sounds a lot like what car manufacturers do when handing over ‘stock’ vehicles to the press for testing. Too bad 115 octanes fuel isn’t around to see what a modern rebuild to stock could do for an Allison or PW 2800 etc.

Greg I think this is one of your best yet and worth the wait. Thanks!
