The air fuel ratio video have turned into quite a monster, probably about 50mins long. I cover this topic in regards to WW2 airplanes and cars from 1970 to 2025. This inevitably led into a talk about exhaust emissions. There was no way to keep it entirely politics free because I had to use EPA documents. Hopefully I struck the right balance. there. Pointing out the EPA's success and failures in regards to pollution is bound to strike some nerves, but I just couldn't avoid it.

I find that so much of this channel is teaching me stuff that I was never previously even interested in. I joined for the WW2 airplane stuff. Having always been an instructor, I find this all a really good way to improve my ability to instruct. Thanks!
Regarding the improvements in non co2 emissions, how do the modern gas car figures compare to medium/large civil airliners for example? I'm interested to see how the different pressure ratios and fuel types affect things. But, while I've helped build a fair variety of different jet engines (from 15k lbs military ones, to 70k+ lbs civil engines), funnily enough I've never fitted a catalyst inside that jet pipe 😂
Fair enough, lean burn will make high combustion temps and high NOx. It really does tie in to how the EPA struggles to balance fuel economy and emissions while introducing stricter standards for both.
I enjoyed the preview!
Nevermind nerves. This will be a hoot! Can't wait.
Does this mean I'll be able to jet my amazon carburetor correctly now?
Nice.
