More Videos Comming Probably 1 Per Week
Every six months Airline pilots have to pass a medical exam. At this time I can't pass it due to somewhat normal issue for men my age. So if I can ever fly again, it wont be for about 6 months.
That means, as a minimum, 6 months to focus more on making videos. I'm trying to get one out every week. The next one is a part of my Fw 190 series and it's on the 190 A4.
The 190A4 in some cases had MW50 which should have been a game changer. It wasn't. With 2100 horsepower in the little A4 airframe (they stretched it for the A5 and later Antons) the A4 had performance below 16,000 feet that was untouchable in mid 1942. Had this succeeded, and I know this is a cliche, but I think it would have altered the course of the air war.
So, that's the video. I'll try to get it up tomorrow. Also, as with the last video, I hope you notice that my recording quality has gone up. Recording from home allows me to use a better microphone in a more controlled environment.
I really appreciate everyone's patronage,
Greg

Hit the wrong key three times now. I hope this is not too disjointed. Best wishes and hop you get better soon!
PS: I cut patronizing from 32 to 6. It's my VA check & the economy. About Jocky Fighters? Bell XP-77etc? If you are not too busy. Imagine a FW TA-152H at 72.715% Scale. The Fuse nose is shorter by two crank throws. Scaled, twin turbo, 4 Row, 4360-57, IIRC, with 77m Pistons and one or two Gabruder/Schultz HMGs and nose gear under. Wet Laminar/Mustang style, but thinner T/C wing, ( no fuel in the Fuselage) but no wing guns, lots of ammo where the main landing gear used to be, LE Slats & Slotted Fowler Flaps. New location to fit Trike gear. Paddle bladed-Contra-prop 2*2 & 1195HP WO accounting for the shorter stroke effect on RPM! I did a rough/single sheet weight and balance calcs at 2,050 Kg EEW Based on P-47 weight divided by area calcs. Please feel free to change as you see fit. It's even lighter if you use TA-152 numbers properly scaled. PS. to keep the CoG right, the wing may have to be moved some to have the correct balance?
AS A Gezer WITH MED PROBS, I KNOW HOW YOU MIGHT FEEL, Best wishes. I wish Bob Hover's court case had gone better! Sincerely!
Best wishes. If you figure out how to get younger, please let me know.
Thanks guys. It's not too bad. Even if I can't go back, I made it to 58, when I started this the mandatory retirement age was 60. I'm not a happy about it, but at some point we all have to stop flying.
Greg, from where I'm sitting, it seems like you've got a pretty good handle on life. I suspect the difference between retiring at 58 and 60 won't amount to much when all is said and done. I hope your medical issue will also turn out to be a minor speed bump that won't slow you down. Peace.
Much as I would selfishly enjoy more of your exceptional videos Greg, I hope that whatever is stopping you flying can be cured or managed so you are able to fly again. Must be pretty horrible to lose your profession and primary source of income like that.
Sorry to hear Greg. Love your videos so there is a silver lining for me. Added a sub here on Patreon.
I hope you recover and get back in the air soon.
Fingers crossed for the retention of your flight permissions Greg. On a positive note, the community would love to have more of your content up. Hope this is able to be a good distraction in the interim.
Dear Greg I was VERY DESTESSED to hear of your plight. I have no idea what the issue is and frankly it isn't really any of my business nor any of your fans and subscribers. Whatever it is I hope it gets resolved quickly. It must be VERY VERY hard for you to get out of the left-hand seat. Obviously, you love what you do. Getting older sucks, old age is a cruel master dealing with it isn't of for the weak. Warmest Regards Bruce
Time to shop for a new AME?😎
I gave up as an electrician at 56 from wear and tear. Now at 62 using a cdl from driving bucket trucks to drive a regular truck. Last couple years I've struggled with a 2 year physical let alone 6 months
Hopefully it's not a serious health concern! Thanks for all the videos Greg 👍👍
Very sad to hear. Best wishes for a successful re-exam.
Greg I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with something that impacts your ability to fly. We look forward to your videos as always, thanks for doing what you do. We appreciate it.
As a follower I will appreciate the weekly videos, but I hope you get over it as sono as possible.
Good to hear of the weekly videos. Sorry to hear of the issues. I was sat down a few years ago. It is all good now. Hope for you the same.
I've been following your channel for a couple of years now. By far my favorite channel on YouTube. As happy as I normally would be to see more videos from you, I don't wish it to be under these circumstances. I'm very sorry that your having to deal with this and I hope it gets resolved as soon as possible!
