Debate update

The debate with Mr. Marshall should happen about mid month. I have not been putting up new videos because my normal efforts in that direction are going into the debate prep. I'm getting a better microphone, a camera set up and so on.

I'm also gathering data, not so much for the debate itself, I know the subject matter well enough, but rather so that I can back up everything I say in a post debate video on sources. That video will come shortly after the debate as during the debate it won't be practical to show charts and records that support my views.

Of course these sources, including THREE P-47 manuals that I have never shown before, all of which are quite rare will be in the Patreon Drive section just after the debate.

Thanks, I really think the preponderance of evidence is on my side, so much so that it's overwhelming. That said, Mr. Marshall is a knowledgeable guy, so I'm excited to see what he brings to the table.

Imho, I think it’s a combination of being a late war US addition that had its teething problems more or less worked out by the Brits, German logistics and pilot ability/availability, degrading while US production, etc. was rising, It can’t be overlooked that it also brought great performance and was ~2:1 CHEAP compared to the cost of a P-38 or P-47. Ps — good luck in the debate Greg, can’t wait.

Anthony, Mr. William Marshall is an author who's father flew P-51s in WW2. He is very passionate about this subject. Here is a link to one of his books: https://www.amazon.com/P-51B-Mustang-Americans-Bastard-Stepchild/dp/1472839668 You can probably tell just from the title of his book that he and I don't see eye to eye on some things. That said, he is considered an expert in this field, and we probably agree on more than we disagree about. Of course the debate is about a topic we strongly disagree on, which is the topic covered in my P-47 Episode 6 video.

Wow. Yes, he seems very attached to that position. But I'm thinking that, by the time the P-51 had "saved" the air force, P-47s, P-38s & British fighters had taken out the best German pilots and so many planes.

I think this debate will be fascinating and I'm really looking forward to it. The timing, coming just after Masters of the Air, is great for reaching a wider audience too.

Hey Greg, Maybe I've missed something but who is Mr Marshall and what are his qualifications as an expert?
