Squad Battle Rewards + Market Outlook

Hey Guys, 

I want to start out by talking about the market in the coming days and how we can best use our time. 

TOTY in not officially confirmed for January 22nd, but we do know they will reveal the team on this date. A lot of people are speculating this is the start date, but I just want to say that isn’t confirmed yet to me! The only true sign will be the card design and loading screen added. 

With that said, I definitely expect some fear going into the week and some hesitancy to buy. If you are looking to buy META cards for your team, I do recommend buying them pre-TOTY specifically cards that are 200K+. Cards like Kante are more likely to increase in price due to insane demand. Yes, there will be tons of supply, but demand should outweigh that as people upgrade their teams. I feel the same about Mbappe, Neymar, Ronaldo, etc. Keep in mind, these cards are all down around 500K from peak prices already and they’re the best gold cards in the game. 

We could see cards like Neymar increase especially well if they decide to bring us nominees as his gold card would go OOP. Based on previous trends, Nominee cards would have already released, so we don’t know if they’ll come at all! 

All in all, specifying an exact low point is near impossible, but know buying before you’re generally in good shape. 

For EA, it’s an easy way to sell packs, but the longer impact is too many meta cards releasing all at once. This would be 70 cards all getting +1, which speeds up the power curve that EA has tried to control. 

Next, let’s look at what SBC’s are coming to an end to be prepared on when we need to flip cards! The key important notes are that all the Upgrades expire soon! 

80+ Player Pick expires Tuesday 

82-88 expires Tuesday 

81-87 expires Tuesday 

The upgrades expiring will have the biggest impact on non rare golds. If you stock them tonight I would try to be out by Tuesday for best prices! 

There are honestly infinite options for non-rare golds to go for tonight. They all get naturally pushed up as people spam the upgrade packs and people will still do them even without a promo team. They’re prepping for TOTY. 

This is a perfect opportunity to look for non-rare golds that hold high value for SBC's! Below I am going to make a list of CURRENT prices. At Squad Battle rewards thousands of packs are opened around a similar timeframe and it drops these cards buy now price.

If you look at open bids, you can often get a few hundred coins lower than that, too! If you hold these cards a few days, they can boom in price for the right SBC.

The ideal time to bid on these is 1-1.5 hours after rewards, but this method still works intermittently Monday morning. Packs tend to be opened from 7-9 AM UK as well! It just won't be quite as heavy as right after rewards.

Again, I will reiterate that there are hundreds of non-rare holding their value due to the upgrades. I think you are good buying again tonight. If you can, focus on strong nations and leagues that could double as Daily SBC’s! These are your best bet for making low budget coins in the coming days!

Look at current buy now during rewards and aim 10-20% lower on bids! 

Fodder looks a little high to me currently overall, but if you stock some at rewards through open bid you are on a really low risk until Thursday. I’m not expecting the next big supply until Thursday, so if we get good SBC’s fodder can obviously rise. It’s just not necessarily low for an all out investment, so instead I would throw some in my club and see what we get for content! 

We mentioned Danilo and Zahavi this week when they were cheaper, but a sleeper inform I like is IF Thomas. He can rise a few K OOP! The CB position adds a lot of value, so he should price closer to 12-13K OOP! 

Aim for discard both consoles during rewards! 

I also like IF Navas at 63K PS/64K Xbox. He is the best GK in Ligue 1 and naturally these increase in price over time. IF Neuer is a great example of this, although there are better CB’s to link him! 

For the rest of this week, I would focus on day trading into inflation as I expect the market to be slowly rising until we hit some sort of panic (loading screen, more info). 

I will also finish my SBC solution trading guide! G mentioned it in Discord and it’s worked amazing due to so many cards holding value! 

I’m gonna leave you here with this specifically for Squad Battles. I also plan to invest in some META OOP cards before TOTY, but I’m just debating exactly when to go in. This is the key for all traders with EA holding the cards! Haha

When there is a huge influx of coins coming into the market cards OOP can do incredibly well. Cards like IF/SIF Zaha, IF Cuadrado, RTTF Diaby, RTTF Bruno Peres, RTTF Cancelo, IF Gomez, etc. So they will rise post TOTY IMO, but it’s just a matter of determining their bottom.
