Link Investing - All You Need to Know

This was a post that has been on my mind for quite some time and I thought it would be perfect today for the start of the month! Link investing is a fairly simple trading technique, but many people haven't viewed it correctly this year! 

I've noticed that people have some wrong ideas about link aka complimentary investing. 

First, this technique is best performed when a MASSIVE number of people are looking to get a single card. When do we see this most? 

1. Objectives 

Objectives are free outside of time and you see a huge number of people look to add these to their squad. The better the objective players, the better their links will rise. A few of the best examples this year include Rulebreaker Mukiele and the MLS objectives. 

The MLS objectives players are hard to provide links to, so RB Opara did amazingly well. You could even take this one step further knowing that people would look to link RB Opara and Objective Long, so it was likely they may use an Icon GK. Icon GK's rose around 30-40% the week of those objectives and we shouted them to flip Thursday. 

2. SBC's 

This one works most of the time, but obviously it varies based on SBC demand. If you are part of the FUT community on Twitter or Instagram you can get a gauge of how in-demand an SBC is!  Another way to look easily is looking at the likes/dislikes on Futbin. This often tells you how well received an SBC is. 

On Futbin if I order by popularity, these SBC's are the first to pop-up and I think you would agree that they were completed like crazy

Alessandrini 

I would definitely say these are 3 of the most popular in the entire game. 

At the time Atal came out there were very few links to him and particularly a huge lack of CB. When he came out, you saw general links in Ligue 1 do very well including IF Renato and Rulebreaker Kamara even for their soft links. This is all painting a picture of how people will fit him in their squad. 

Hero Teixera is up around 20K from Alessandrini and definitely has more room to rise. Alessandrini has a nice mix of French links and CSL. 

3. Red Player Picks 

This was far more prevalent in the early days we saw red player picks, but it still has an impact! This is actually my reasoning for this post. 

So often you guys have good ideas around this, but you need to remember the odds of pulling top players. For example, last week so many people asked me "Should I buy X player to link with Ronaldo?" 

The idea is good, but very few people will get Ronaldo in their red player picks as you probably know. Instead, we need to focus on red player picks who are META, but lower in rating to have the best success. This was exemplified this week with IF Carrasco. 

IF Carrasco is a very good card, but low rated and will be selected a lot in red player picks. 

Guess what happened to his links? They absolutely flew! 

IF LLorente went from 125-165K on Xbox and 145-185K on PS respectively. 

IF Joao Felix went from105-135K on Xbox and 120-150K on PS 

This is a visual display of just how many went for that Carrasco and forced him into their team! 

My last important note on this is STOP looking to do this on new promo cards. Haha. The first day we see a new promo no one has the actual cards and most LOSE coins trying this. 

For example, people bought RuleBreakers Dumfries when they saw Promes was in RTTF Team 2. His price increased from 24 to 38K. The buyers were anticipating the link and many people using that Promes. 

The problem with this theory is that new cards are extremely expensive the first day and promos often release on a Friday. Most people have just built their team on Thursday for Rivals and Weekend League, so they're not looking to change so soon. 

I'm aiming to give you guys more of these posts to make you master traders. If you add all these tools into your repertoire you can understand who rises and why they rise! As you start to learn these trends, you can act faster each time!
