Important Change of Plans: Only Battlemaps From Now On, No More Campaign Sourcebooks + Other Content :( (BUT not dying so also yay!)
Hello beloved Patrons, we have some sad news for you, which is that we won’t be making any more campaign sourcebooks, 5e content, or OSTs moving forward. I am sorry to say we will be pulling back to just making battlemaps. For those of you who have paid for a year in advance, if you would like a refund for your unused months, we understand, please send us a message and we’ll make it happen!
Over the last 8ish months we've trialled making all this extra content on top of the battlemaps, but sadly it just hasn’t worked out. We want to thank everyone who has been around a long time, and also those who are newly subscribed. Many of you know the hardship we have been going through recently and it really is your contributions keeping us afloat right now, and being able to afford whatever medical related expenses we need. We both really appreciate your support. With that said, there is no pressure to stay on as a patron if these changes (outlined below) are not for you. We're all going through tough times right now and if the content we’re providing isn't of value for you, go use your dollar where you think it will be of best use. <3
Main reason we’re dropping the campaigns is we have seen no positive increase in revenue despite the additional content. Our Patreon has in fact still been declining 5% in gross revenue over that 8 month time period. Now that's not the worst, pretty much every cartographer is seeing no growth at this time, but right now the campaigns are taking such a toll on us that Luke can't rationally continue them without seeing a result from them (even though we love them to itty bitty pieces).
When Luke started writing the campaigns, he didn't really have extra time for that during his regular work hours, so they consumed any extra free time he had, which was fine when we started because we hoped they would be a huge hit and it would be worth the sacrifice. But unfortunately it hasn’t amounted to anything, and that being the case, we’ve both decided that it’s better for his health to drop back down to just doing the maps so he can get back to getting regular sleep and a little more free time here and there for his sanity. Once he’s also caught up on sleep, we’ve agreed he could try to do more marketing for the patreon, so there's still hope of growth even if he can’t create as much content.
Now, we will be still creating 5-10 map packs per month, so that has not changed and the quality of maps will not be affected. A positive of this change is, since Luke no longer needs to paint similar maps for a month to make them work for a campaign, he can focus on more unique ideas again! And if anything, Luke will now have slightly more time to work with them!
Our new $3 tier is going to drop to $1.5 and still give the 5-10 unique maps (whatever are Luke's top favorites from each map pack), still foundry ready. It will be like a cheap tier designed for those looking to get some unique maps without a bunch of variants.
Unfortunately the other tiers will not be dropping in price however even though they will now be seeing less content overall. When we started doing the extra content we didn’t increase the price at all, which was fine, we love creating content for you guys and didn’t want to suddenly charge more but this does mean now that we’re cutting the content we can’t suddenly decrease price without taking a massive blow. We are sorry about that though, we know it feels bad. :(
That said all other content for the other tiers will stay the same, besides of course not getting the campaigns and associated content (2d tokens + weapons, armor and OST etc.)
Oh also, the teaser for next month's map will be out tomorrow and we’ll continue making teasers for next month's maps as we have been doing because we at least think that’s an improvement! I think that is everything, thanks everyone! If you have any questions just leave them below and Luke or I will get to them as soon as we can.
P.S
Health-wise, for those interested, a good update, I’m not dying (yay!); the genetic test results are back, and I don’t have vEDS (despite meeting 6 of the minor criteria!) or cEDS, thank God. That has been an insanely large burden lifted off our backs.
The other good news is we’re progressing with our diagnoses. It looks like hEDS is the most likely connective tissue disorder, and we also identified what seems to be severe hypoglycaemia as something separate to the vasovagal presyncope that has a different (and manageable) mechanism. We don’t have an official diagnosis of hypoglycaemia yet, but we do have data from a Dexcom CGM and a blood glucose monitor we bought. It’s also looking like a condition called MCAS is on the table. POTS, hEDS, and MCAS are actually so commonly occurring together, they’re called the Dysautonomia Triffecta (and the hypoglycaemia is also a common 4th wheel no-one wants).
The wonderful thing is with this info I’ve changed a few things about my diet and lifestyle and am doing so much better! I've regained so much quality of life. That’s our wonderful, quick update :) ~ Beb and Luke

Not dying is indeed good news. I was only ever interested in maps, I prefer to write my own adventures. I might be able to justify $1.50/month for maps, too. I like to have a big stash available for wherever my campaign ends up.
The maps are why I signed up, everything else was gravy. I'll stick out my year. I'm glad the medical news wasn't the worst case. :)
Glad to hear it. Take care.
And I’ll miss the campaigns of course, but it makes total sense to not continue that extra work for no extra income.
That’s wonderful news on the medical side! I’m glad to hear it.
So, there's this extra thing that you were giving people for free for a while and caused you loads of extra work and exhaustion for no return, so now you're stopping it? Makes complete sense to me. As does giving Luke a chance to rest and recuperate. Also, yay for the not dying!
