Sneak Peak: 5e Mechanics!
Luke’s working on something amazing for next month’s Monster Hunter themed campaign!
We haven’t done mechanics professionally before. But some of you lovely DMs here have given us the feedback that it really would make your lives all that much easier. So we’re giving it a go! 😱
I’m having so much fun brainstorming monster designs with Luke, and I think he is doing a great job with the numbers 🥰 At the moment, the Monster Manual is permanantly living on his desk as reference material.
If this works out, and the creatures are balanced, there’s a chance we’ll be going through and statting out older guides. No promises though, things have been tough regarding finding extra energy amid parental responsibilities and health challenges ATM 😅
Many excite though!! 🥳 What are your thoughts? How many of you even play 5e versus different editions (3e? 🤨) or systems (Pathfinder, Sabre RPG, TORG: Eternity, etc)?
Not knowing much about porting things accross, would statting these beasties out in 5e still be easy enough to translate into, say, Pathfinder (Sabre RPG ofc being my favorite system personally 😎)?
TIA if any of you take the time to answer! Hope we can do some cool monster designs to bring next month’s campaign to a new level of awesome! :D

This is neat news! Adding some stats will help newer DMs balance their encounters.
Thanks Daniel! Yes that is what we were hoping. Also, we've had a few DMs tell us they were hoping the campaign sourcebooks had the mechanics in there to save them time, so we're doing our best to listen and make our stuff more useful :) ~ Beb
I'm Playing 5e: D&D5 and Myranor (a german RPG setting we are publishing for 5e at the moment). I am also playing Fate, Cypher System, YZE and a lot of other systems. If you want to get help for building 5e-Creatures, look to the GMs Guide of Tales of the Valiant. I used this a lot for my own Myranor Monster Manual. Who is drawing the pictures of scenes and creatures in your Campaign sourcebooks?
Thanks so much for this feedback Aikar! :D I'll pass on the GMs guide you mentioned onto Luke. I'll have to ask my Bavarian friend if she knows Myranor, it's great that it's getting carried forward into 5e! Currently we're generating the art in Midjourney, we can't afford an illustrator at the moment and I don't have time anymore to do my little sketches. Kind of think Midjourney is more talented anyway ':) Sorry, I know AI's controversial, hope it's of any use. ~ Beb
Please keep your campaigns agnostic. There is more to the RPG universe than 5e.
It depends if the 5e-stats are an addon or replacing something else (what?). If they are an addon, no one looses anything and many get something.
