Sept Newsletter Update 2025
Hi everyone! This is Beb, Luke’s wife. Some of you may know me if you’ve been supporting our work for more than 2 1/2 years, as I used to be the other half of the business before Luke and I started our family.
I made this 3 min video to explain a bit about what’s being going on and apologise for the terrible customer service for the last... year >.< (explained in video). Luke and I really appreciate your support and patience!
I am doing my best to help out with the business again now when I’m too ill to take the kids (as its safer to sit at a laptop with low blood-pressure and fainting, than to supervise cute little death magnets). FYI, if you ever recieve a garbled response, please follow up on it as there’s a chance I sent something while my brain wasn’t getting enough blood to function properly (and I couldn’t recognise it at the time).
It’s embarrassing, but it is sadly what I have to work with now. Luke’s really been struggling to take care of everything (me included!) with my newfound illness/disability (dysautonomia: POTS, orthostatic hypotension, vasovagal syncope, we’re also investigating hEDS as a possible root cause even though the dysautonomia only triggered at the end of last pregnancy). He has been making a truly heroic effort to paint and write despite everything going on in our personal lives this last year. As a result, I feel like I owe it to him to do whatever I can to help pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.
I’m so sorry about the bad service lately, thanks again for all your support! It really does mean the world to us!
Also, now that I’m back on board again, please send through any suggestions on what we could do better (please also tell me about the creators you like who are “doing it right” and what you especially like!) or harsh truths on what we’re doing poorly. I love Seafoot Games with all my heart, Luke and I started this business together shortly after we began dating and I’ll be damned if I see it fail now.
I’ll start re the constructive critisism. We need:
- Better customer support (duh!)
- Easier ways for you to find / search through our maps and backlog
- A FoundryVTT install tutorial that’s a vid, as our .PDF is letting a lot of you DMs down (so sorry about this!)
- I’d hazard a guess that we also need to make this more of a community again. Luke’s much more introverted than me, and he’s quite happy to quietly paint battlemaps in the background, bless his heart. I think a result of this is we’ve slowly drifted to more distant / professional / less relatable “marketing” rather than just being openly ourselves like we used to. Hence the video catch up, linked above!
Ok, I think that’s everything I wanted to say. Love you all, thanks again for your support, it really does mean the world to us ❤️ Being able to paint maps and write adventures these last 7ish years full time has been such a joy and priviledge.

Loving the videos and happy about the adventures returning! I recently looked back and realized I’ve used many of your stories in my own games. I’ll see about sharing your stuff on social media to spread the word. Sorry to hear about your health struggles too.

It absolutely helps keep us going when we hear how much DMs and players enjoy what we’ve made 🥰🥰 Thank you so much for considering sharing our work as well, that would be a huge, huge help (no pressure though!) as I suck at social media and we’re both waaay too short on time at the moment. It’s hard choosing which work takes priority!
Look for your self and your family! The campaigns are really cool and If you have fun writing them go for it, but don't feel that you have to do. Not only is your health more important, feeling that you have to do something can also destroy the fun and creativity you get from it.
Thanks Aikar, we really appreciate the support and kind words :) Thankfully we both really enjoy creating “cool things” a lot haha, the new stuff I am helping with I think will primarily be getting our backlog of maps up on DriveThruRPG =.= That is a BIG, boring job we have avoided for far too long 😅 But we 100% need a better download / map finding system than what we currently have, you guys deserve it <3
It’s so clear how much love and care you both put into your campaigns and art. The honesty and vulnerability you’ve shared about your journey really show just how much it all means to you. I can relate a lot; my wife and I are both disabled, though her condition is more severe, so I do my best to carry what I can for her. I just want to remind you both to take care of yourselves too, and to keep doing what you love. As a DM and writer, I know how hard it can be to feel like you need to be perfect, especially on tough days. I hope you’ll keep that in mind whenever things feel heavy. Wishing you and your family all the best. I’m excited to see what you put out next. Lots of love 💜
Thank you so much Dimitri, those are incredibly kind words and I sincerely appreciate them. That is especially wise advice for the tough days. It sounds like you very much understand what we’re going through. I really want to carry more for Luke at the moment, he has been shouldering this burden heroically for too long and I feel like I am finally starting to come to grips with my new limitations rather than hoping they’ll just “go away” (the denial phase is tough T.T). I do really appreciate what you’ve written here, thanks again!
