I feel like this season really hammers home the idea of Aqua being a ‘saviour’ who cannot be saved himself, probably stemming from his life as a doctor. This is the 2nd time he saves Akane from death and similarly Kana (both have other figurative moments too). Definitely one of the best episodes of this season as whole but especially the 2nd half with Akane and Aqua

The way I see it, Aqua acts the way he does because while he's currently "Aqua," he's also still Gorou-sensei (at least partly). And Gorou would never let literal kids like Kana and Akane throw away their lives for the sake of his revenge.

Seeing dark Ruby was a good change of pace for this season but imo nothing beats dark Aqua, bro has been in the darkness for most of his life and is ready to take his father there too.

My favorite episode of this season lowkey , the tension this episode was other worldly. Honestly I love Akane dedication to Aqua but it’s so strong , she forgets to put that same energy into herself. Aqua knows that and that’s why he did what he did , I love this show so much these characters are written so well
