Episode 23 | The Surprising Beauty Of Valencia.
Hello Winded Voyagers!
We are in Valencia Spain. A most surprising city. Third largest city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona, it seems to be somewhat in the shadows of the two. Me and Steph arrived late in the afternoon and went for a quick evening meal.
The next day we boarded city bikes called Valenbisi. A network of bicycles perfectly positioned all over the city. You get a bike, ride it, drop it off and pick one up later. A great system. And one that works real well in a city that is basically flat.
Valencia is both super modern and histirically classic. Clean and gritty. It's on the beach and surrounded by orchards. There is a central park that twists through the whole city. An old river bed which was turned into a vast park after the river was diverted due to serious floods.
Steph needed a haircut and we stumble on The Brooklyn Barber Shop. A hot spot for Hipsters and Gangsters it seemed. My bro got a serious cool cut for €10!
I'm no architecural expert, but I do appreciate it. And Valencia has me stunned. The architechure is incredible and the urban planing fantastically functional. I'm enthralled by Valencia and will stay here longer than expected. Because there is so much more than I ever expected and I must share it with you.
Big hugs and much love, Alex

Hi Alex, I've been meaning to write a comment for some time now, but never got a round tuit... Anyways, I just want to say that your videos (well made, snazzy, not too long) are a continuous inspiration for me, especially since much of the content relates directly to stuff I will be doing myself not too far from now. I used to be a weekend sailor in Japan where I lived for many years. Currently I'm boatless in Nicaragua (long story) but from autumn/winter of this year, I will be buying a boat to live on in Europe, probably very much in the same area where you started out (I know and like the Southwest coastal area of France from long ago, even been to Leucate briefly, Colliure, Port Vendres...). Spain is also very much on my radar. You may be gone by then (who knows?) but maybe we'll cross paths at some point. Cheers and all the best! Wolfgang
By "you may be gone" I of course meant that you may be cruising the Canaries and beyond, not the other, more sinister meaning...
